You have to make sure you don't kill him either. You have to not only make sure they don't kill him but that your sword doesn't chop slice him up as well. All I could think of when I saved him was Resident Evil 4 when you saved the dog and it helped you beat the Gigante later.I wonder saving the guy will get help from him later or give you some advantage like a new skin or weapon.When playing games you can never rule that kind of stuff out.
