This is only going to serve to further segregate groups. Why gay gamers? Do gay gamers have it so much harder than gay moviegoers? or gay gardeners? Not news. Fighting game players have been dealing with this forever. Just research the amount of input lag on the TV in advance and play your old systems on old TVs.

That's ridiculous! Everyone has a phone by default so nearly everyone is a "mobile gamer" just for looking at Angry Birds for a few seconds.
