Great to have the options, though in the cases of 4k vs 900p, I don't think I can bring myself to do the lower resolution.

@Tacoboto The key is that Sony uses MTX sparingly, whereas Microsoft added them to Doom Eternal just months after their acquisition went through. After it had been promised by Bethesda that would never happen to the game.

Buying up one of the largest publishers is the opposite of competitive. Though I agree, having Microsoft around is obviously good for the industry as a whole (unless they keep buying).

Sometimes I sit back and try to imagine what they could have done if they invested $8 billion in organic studio development. How many jobs would that have added to the industry? There's loads of developers out there that want good paying jobs, and Microsoft could have supplied them.

@Finding I thought you were talking about the Ubisoft article directly, hence my confusion. I did see those numbers the other day from RE. It will be interesting to see how that trends in the future.

@Finding Am I missing something? Where do you see the 4x more?

Neither Sony or Microsoft are blameless on the matter. Both of them blocked it when they were in the lead, and both wanted it when they were behind. The biggest reason to not allow it is because it disincentivizes the consumer from switching consoles to play with their friends. If the deciding factor for buying a console no longer has to be "All my friends play on the ______", then the console manufacturer is losing out on customers and future games revenue.

From what I've seen, their posts have put off a LOT of people. Their comments are misleading at best, it could cause some real damage for sales coming from such a large publication.

I thought that was a helpful point as well, when a certain site is saying: YOU CAN'T SAVE DURING YOUR 3 HOUR RETURNAL RUNS! This clarifies that even if you just have half an hour to an hour, you can make progress in the game

@MagicLebronJordan Actually a full year of GamePass would be $180 if you're paying full price for ultimate. With that leftover $40 you could buy a year of PS Plus from CDKeys for $30, and end up with 36 more games to play (more than I can play in a year), and still have $10 to spare for a game in your backlog that's on sale. If Returnal is akin to other Roguelikes, it will have massive replay potential, and in that case I'd rather just buy it outright than pay for gamepass every t...

It will be interesting if/when Microsoft makes Bethesda games exclusive, how long it will be before Sony decides to enter the First Person RPG market. I can see Guerrilla working on something like that. Back in the day I actually wrote a blog post on IGN about how Guerilla could make their own fallout in the Killzone Universe. I also would love to see Naughty Dog work on something new, even if I would still love an Sully origins Uncharted game, that could go to another studio.

I played Pacific Rift at my friend's, and immediately wanted a PS3.

I'll reiterate what I've said many times. If you play lots of games, or buy lots of new games (that are included in Gamepass), and you don't feel the need to own your games, GamePass is a good deal. I can absolutely see this for sports games because after new games are released there's really no reason to go back to older titles.

However, if the only new game you buy each year is a sports title, you're probably better off just buying it. Either buy it n...

I'm not part of the community, so I'm just relaying what I've heard, but isn't that what most Halo players play nowadays? I heard people majorly disliked the 4 and 5 campaigns.

I'm interested to see FPS sales/play count numbers this year. Curious if Battlefield and Halo will steal a significant portion away from Warzone.

With a lower profile game like this, an 80 vs. 90 metacritic could have huge implications for sales. We want to see more Housemarque games in the future, so high sales volumes would be great. Of course if it's not a good game, then so be it.

@Rebel_Scum My favorite is still Super Stardust. Although simple, the game is incredibly addictive. Many people like Resogun better I think, which is also a great game in the same vein.

I can't wait to play this. I love Housemarque's addictive gameplay, and in a fast 3rd person shooter....sign me up.

I shit you not, I just saw Rage 2 is "on sale" for $55. I literally bought that game a couple months ago for $10. FROM BEST BUY.

It will be interesting to see in 10 years when people look back at their collections for PS5 and XSX. Those that used subscription services will have no games to show, besides those from GWG. I continue to use the method of buying most of my games after they are $20 or less. Every once in a while I will buy a $60 game, usually about every 2 years. I then rely on ps plus for the rest of my gaming.

For those that don't care about owning/replaying games and play a lot, sur...
