Don't think it'll be an MMO in the traditional sense - more like CoD progression, but with tied in persistent story etc. Could be excellent - the best elements of Mass Effect with the action of a fast-paced FPS. Bungie are definitely the guys to pull this off.
From what I've seen, Dead Island is Dead Rising: Tropical. CG trailer told me absolutely nothing btw. Don't hate the game, but why should I love it after all this?
How can anyone disagree with a question? I just wanted to know what Ultramoot meant by "Good luck explaining that to the PS3 fanboys."
Geez...
But did you play the secret level on the Crysis 2 MP demo? Nah, thought not.
Why - because they want KZ3 to win the 'looking pretty' competition?
What's with the Haze quote? I played that BS and don't remember any of that. Worst core exclusive this gen?
They could definitely go head to head with the third-person shooter greats - Marcus and Nathan, I'm looking at you...
It's an awesome, true story. Not enough EMPs though.
he doesn't actually specify prices, just what he sees as the optimum experience....
yeah, fair point. But something like Killzone 3, which is more action-movie like, playable for 2/3 sittings doesn't necessarily need to last for 10+ hours... HL2 at 20 hours? Yep, cuz the story and action are so excellent/varied...
Heh, I've got 12 disagrees - that's a lot of people that would sit through a hundred hour movie... seriously though, I'm not talking about worse value games, just tighter, more focused experiences...
He asks on his blog: "Why is Fallout 3 a one hundred hour experience?" I'm starting to ask myself the same question. If a movie was that long I'd never consider watching it...
NGP, any day of the week. Uncharted FTW!
Game looks awesome. Not sure about the non-GTA-looking bits though...
Little bit worried about what I've been hearing RE: combos. All sounds a bit easy. Plus MVC was always too busy for me... might give it a rent...
Every game is team-based (AI or players) with different objectives throughout the levels
Sounds like they know what they're doing - just worry that it'll go the way of MAG - nice ideas, but nobody 'getting it'
Game mechanics are repetitive by nature - but if they're compelling/give you that 'buzz' then they can be awesome spread across the progression of a game...
I like the fact that there's a fair amount of choice with an open map, rather than just getting shot up within 10 seconds of respawn. If they added some smaller maps to appease the CoD fans they could rule the FPS landscape...
Plus 'EA leadership' wants to see it made, so it must be good, right? RIGHT??
