Great article! Author should read Present Shock, a contemporary play on the 70s coined term and book Future Shock. Dealing with an accelerated world that loses meaning as we try to play catch up. I like articles like this on N4G. Please have more.
Agree with bjmartynhak and logicwins. I prefer the fighting in Unity. More patient timing and the slower pace made it more realistic. This looks like a button mashing romp.
Been playing soccer games since the arcades. Followed the popularity of FIFA before discovering Winning Eleven and converting. I have to say the PES 2016 might be the greatest soccer game I've ever played. At least on the pitch. Graphics and atmosphere can be better, as well as menus and game modes. But the game on the pitch is nothing less than sublime.
I loved it! Walking the streets of Paris is an experience on my projector. There were annoying bugs but once they were sorted I had NO problems with it. Trying to platinum it now.
Im liking the audience reactions!
Does it look like it has taken a step back graphically from Unity or is that just me? It still looks good.
Do it! I grew up with the Winning Eleven series in the ps2 era as well (even before with N64). I lost interest last gen but this one... oh my! Its glorious! Can't stop playing it with my friends! Its sublime! Brought me back to WE7
Kabal and Baraka is all I need
Big fan of PES, or should I say Winning Eleven. Ever since they went into last gen and changed the name I lost interest. Last year's demo made me buy the game but it never held my interest enough. This year's 2016 Ive been playing tons with my friends and the game I feel is back to its glory days. Having said that, this review was great to read! Poignant and on point. I hope Konami reads this and steps it up to ensure not only PES's longevity but its success to be king again, beca...
This is disturbing me because its turning me on.
If you just didn't like the PES demo I doubt you'd change your mind on the final game ALTHOUGH I will say that the actual game IS in fact better than the demo. I can't put my finger on it yet but everything is smoother and more polished and the games I played with friends were absolutely thrilling and exciting! More so than the demo.
Great game! Was able to pull me away from MGV which I thought would never happen.
Wow! I played the demo and love it but wasnt expecting so much hype and rave reviews! Im excited now!
No they weren't in my opinion but I can see what you're saying. Maybe that's what it takes to make an open world in 1080p and run at 60 fps. It still looks gorgeous visually considering the poly count looks lower and simplified.
Then again Metal Gear games have always had simplified BGs.
How was the PES game different from the demo? I played both and didn't realize the difference. Though I loved the demo and for some reason I can't explain never got into the game.
I bow to you Morganfell. I started with MGS1 but you're a bigger fan than I.
I flipped over playing MGSV (14 hours in now) and already think its one of the best games ever. But something weird happened. I got Mad Max and tried it out. A few hours in and I couldn't wait to get back into the magnum opus. A weird feeling because I feel like it has this power over Metal Gear and its pulling me away when I had already decided I wanted to play all Metal Gear first. That...
5/10??! Are you kidding me??! Isn't that what Superman 64 got? That's almost unplayable. I think if you hate it, you still can't ignore the production quality and that it does some things to make it somewhat fun for OTHER people so that makes it at LEAST a 7! God, 5 is just awful and I'm LOVING the game!
Bang on! Never thought of it like that. I guess critics approach games in a different way because they just want to go through it and finish it to review it and in doing so cant enjoy some types of "challenges". Ones that take a bit of effort and time.
Haha! Omg! What a touchy bunch!
Yea, I didn't mean "all PC gamers". Relax guys, I didn't realize I was part of a war.
Thanks to those that clarified! :)
Its an okay job. There's details omitted such as the step back jumper is not holding back while driving to the bucket. Its holding back while moving LATERALLY to the bucket. Eurostep is easiest pulled by holding diagonally AWAY from the bucket. This is why he thinks its hard to pull off because he's not doing it right, I pull that move every time. Video should be clearer.
