"Open world games have always been seen as amazing since the release of Skyrim." Pretty sure they've been seen as "amazing" for a lot longer, I remember being impressed by them back in the PS2 days with games like GTA.
A lot of people hated on this due to the infamous Ubisoft downgrade and various bugs and glitches but I preferred Watch Dogs' dark and gritty vigilante vibe to Watch Dogs 2 upbeat colorful themes, even though Aiden Pierce has the personality of a rock.
Good news I guess but this also tells me they don't have much in development right now besides Crackdown 3, Sea of Thieves and State of Decay. 2 We won't likely see the fruits of such investments for 2 to 3 years either.
Moronic statement, people couldn't buy them if they didn't exist in the first place. This isn't a chicken/egg scenario. The publishers are to blame for implementing them in the first place.
