So how is denying people content who own another console not hurting them? If Sony is denying someone else who owns another console, it IS hurting consumers but when MS buys content to exclude other console consumers, the left out consumers are not hurt.
You can only have it one way guy. Either it hurts all consumers or it hurts none. If your bashing Sony, then you gotta keep going and start bashing MS too because we are all losing whether you own one console or the other.
Lol I don't remember Sony ever being sued for anti-trust issues. When was the last time MS did that? What about in 1998 by the U.S. government on the behalf of Netscape? What about in 2001 by Sun Microsystems? What about in 2003 by RealNetworks? What about again in 2003 by EU? I guess that is what "good" companies just have to deal with right?
Paying money for anything is still the same thing. Money is money whether there is ownership or not. Is it worse to pay someone to use their slave or buy one yourself? Sony has finally (unfortunetly) sank to MS's level. The bar is lowered regardless. Thats why we as gamers should frown upon all unscrupulous business practices whether we are fans of a particular console or not. In the end, we all lose. See where fanboyism has gotten us? Nowhere with less choices.
Wasn't there an article that said some blob game or something had 90% piracy rate? I am sure figures like those REALLY excite developers and make them want to make games for PC's. Unless PC Gaming can put a cap on piracy and it's exorbitant costs, then it will never beat consoles. No matter how much better PC games look.
And if a developer actually managed to create a really great engine, that would make them all the more money licensing it out to other companies. Its seems kinda like basic business strategy if you ask me. <whispers> Build it and they will come!
I agree with your comment. If companies don't want to use UE3, then they are not forced to use it. If a company doesn't have the funds to produce a worthwhile, good looking game then they don't deserve to develop and make money off of video games. Too many companies are looking to get rich off of other peoples hard work. If you don't like what Epic does for your company, build your own engine. What did you expect? Sorry to say guy but you need to UNDERSTAND the article. The article is using Sony to weigh the benefits of pay service (like the only company that uses a pay service MICROSOFT XBOX 360). If you can't understand the reference, thats fine. But don't hate on Jack for it.
The PSN is pretty d@mn good for being free. It has room to improve but MS has previous experience with OS's and thats why the service seems to more intuitive. However, once Xbox Live provides dedicated servers for online play, then the money you pay them will be worth it. Until then, your money is going towards MS's bottom line. P2P is absolutely fVckin ridiculous for the amount of money x360 users pay.

A GOTY contender should be above and beyond ANY game that is out. The game should be cutting edge and EVERY aspect of the game should be done right and better than any other game in any other category. GeOW2 looks good but the game isn't pushing any envelopes in any regard.
Simply based on numbers, R2's multiplayer beats it. Whether the gameplay is even comparible, which it isn't cause their both very different, GeOW2 needs to have a little more under the belt before it is GOT...
Yeah that would be great if Sony went down. Lord knows what happens when MS gets a monopoly on the market (see Vista). Competition is what gives us gamers the edge. They fight we win. One side wins, we all get crappy games that are force fed to us until we stop gaming all together.
Halo needs to make a game that is better than its predecessor. Halo, IMO, needs a shot in the arm. The series seems to be stagnant against the face of these newer IPs. GeOW2 is shaping up to be the new game to beat for the X360. Whether or not it deserves the praise it gets, GeOW2 has the freshness that Halo once had. I dunno. Halo just seems so tame compared to newer IPs, not just GeOW2. Argue if you want, but thats just my opinion.

agreed, it is totally unacceptable that the product failure rate is as high as it is. Point blank. ANY other product with such a high failure rate would be pulled from the market. What about a jumbo jet? Would you get on a 747 that had a 30% failure rate? What about a car? Would you buy one who's transmission failure rate was about 30%? What about a TV even? Would you buy an LCD that produced blank screens 30% of the time?
