I think my friend had this on his SNES way back when we were kids. It's pretty good.
I didn't like the original Bionic Commando, and it sounds like I probably won't like this one either. At least, though, unlike the original game, I won't be the only one this time around.
Did this game really cause such a big stir? I'd never even heard of it until now.
Still, for what little it's worth, I really doubt the developers were trying to send any message with this game.
This game is thrilling when you're winning and frustrating when you're losing. Still, in the end, I'd say it's pretty fun.
I've been anticipating this for way too long. Good to know!
Wow, Marvel.com really let the cat out of the bag early. They posted this at quarter til 3 this afternoon. Hah!
That's pretty bold. I appreciate that kind of move.
Well, I'M certainly not interested, but that's more because I'm too snobby to believe that you can play an RTS game on console. I'll admit it - I'm biased. :P
The superficiality of morality choices is what turns me off from most games like this. I prefer things like friendship meters, like they have in the Growlanser series. Saying certain things will raise your affinity with certain characters, and maybe lower them in others. Also, if you let characters get killed in battle, that lowers your affinity with them too. It's not quite as all-encompassing as morality, but it lets you define your personality well enough.
Because at the time, I was an awkward thirteen year old who was more preoccupied with being cool, and revealing that I played Pokemon would have been like a hugely publicized scandal that my social life would have never recovered from. I know it's dumb now, but I didn't back then.
I've discussed that in depth in my editorial. I think that the specific points of a story are not what really matters, but how well they are executed. And, speaking as someone who has had some pretty major stuff spoiled for me, I can say this much: If it was done well, then even if you already knew...even if you saw it coming a mile away, it will still be powerful.
On the other hand, plot points and twists that carry no more weight than their initial shock value, I would call tha...
I remember feeling this way when I played the first Pokemon game at the age of like, thirteen or fourteen. I would play it all the time, but I would also DESPERATELY try to hide that fact from anyone I came into regular contact with.
These days, I don't really get embarrassed like that, thankfully...but, I don't play Pokemon anymore, either, heh.
That kind of mindset that game stories will never be good will just help perpetuate them staying in the realm of mediocrity forever.
I gotta wonder, why on Jimmy Fallon's show of all places?
I personally had the most fun with the box...
Hmmm...I already don't like the genre too much, but the zany anime style takes it right into no-man's land for me, heh.
Hah! It sounds like a creepy anime version of that one Coyote Ugly movie.
Actraiser really thrived on just how alarmingly simple it was. But yeah, it was really outdone by all the genres it tried to copy. You could mash the hell out of the attack button to kill every boss in the game but like the last two, and the town segments were easy if you just focused on getting rid of the monsters before focusing on expanding the town. After all, it's not like it's ever too late to build, there's no time limit or anything. :P Still, it was just so easy to pick up and play, t...
Why couldn't he be awesome in the movie?
I'm at odds with Star Tropics.
The first game had WAY better style, presentation, music, etc. but I didn't like how clunky the gameplay felt.
The second game had much better gameplay, but the whole time-traveling deal was pretty lame :/ Still, definitely a cool game.
