I bought into the hype with the wii comming off the heels of the gamecube (my last fav ninty console). I stood in the snow for 6 hours to get one. Got it home with a grin from cheek to cheek and enthusiasm for their 5th gen offering. Only to play it and think holy fuck... I think im getting too old for games that dont appeal to me. Im not disagreeing with that the switch games wont look great for a HANDHELD. In fact, they will probably look amazing. I dont need amazing graphics either and i have always enjoyed the gameplay and artistic brilliance when it came to ninty 1st parties.

Nor will it support third party games, touch screen support, dual screened, long battery life, reasonably priced, orrr backwards compatability?? What can this thing do exactly?

So youre saying the docking station wont allow extra powerz (secret sauce). If so i commend you for not believing what these fanboys are thinking. Which i could not blame them... Id be upset by the shit graphics this thing is putting out. Dont get me wrong as a handheld it looks great. But dont try to sell us shit we all know it wont support...

Forget the fact games now are comming in around 50+ gb mark, forget the fact they already had and still do have issues getting games to run at 720p 30 fps after 3 years without major compromise on a VANILLA 7TH GEN CONSOLE, forget the fact this handheld runs off cartridges, forget the fact it will cost third party developers more $$$ and time to tweak a game that can run of...
This thing is going to fail so hard. They are hoping to cash in our their biggest cashcow in the handheld market. Maybe next time if there is one they dont give us underpowered tech, gimmicks, and overpriced bullshit again.

I agree with almost every point this article makes. Yet, i really do believe the price is key. If they sold the (ns) for 249.99 for base and 299.00 for deluxe, it would sell like hot cakes. Lets be real, the tech inside this thing should be fairly cheap. If their asking price is above other 7th gen consoles, the ns will be doa. But, most forward-minded level-headed gamers will look to the past for answers on the price. The wiiu was so far behind the curve as tech goes and they STILL charged 9...

The day the ns launches: wiiu will get a huge price cut to clear out those dusty boxes. Should be able to pick one up for 99.00 with 5 free games.

I would buy this for mp4 and a zelda on launch but we know thats not going to happen.
