To do that you must search handheld generations. Ive been gaming for a long time and just because you think a handheld is a console that doesnt make it true. A console is not meant to be portable and on the go. Thats what handhelds are for.

Handhelds arent part of a console generation. Only consoles. Sooo the switch does not count! As its a super gameboy in 2017... Some ppl in here need to get a clue... With nintendo it goes nes, snes, 64, gamecube, wii, wiiu... Not nes, gameboy, snes, gameboy color ect...the switch is nothing more then a glorified handheld that outs to the tv.
Also, i hope for the fanboys sake the docking station offers more power to the handheld when docked... If not its another gimmick when...

Um i bought a wiiu just to play zelda with a release date of holiday 2015 as most of the other 1st parties dont interest me being a nintendo fan for more than 20 years.... Ok so how much do you expect the ns to cost if it is this super powerful handheld with graphics of an xb1? 299? Thats not going to happen. Nintendo never lose money day one. Look at the wiiu and how well that did. For this to be a new handheld as powerful as an xb1 in 2017 its going to be 399 at th very least. Im glad to see at least some people in this thread are being honest with their expectations of the switch. The fact no hard evidence of it being a powerhouse of a handheld exist its most likely going to be on the underwhelming side for a console in 2017. My guess is that it will be somewhere between the power of a wiiu and an xb1. Which should still be able to pump out some amazing games at 720 60 on the handheld. How well that translates to the big screen is yet to be seen.
Could be an all time stinker too. Ninty has been out of touch with gamers since before the wii 10 years ago. The gamecube was their last best effort in my opinion and even that system was lacking.

Ok ill agree that a handheld is a console but nowhere in there is it part of a home console generation. The ns is meant to be played on the go. Thats why it has its own rechargeable battery. I know myself like many will never take it out of the docking station. But just because it has a dock does not make it a home console...
