For me it's not about the grind for loot, although it is a big part of the game.
Playing hardcore mode in D3 with some friends is an exhilarating experience, we do it at the start of each season, and its amazing. Then, surviving is all that matters.
If you play normal mode, non-season, then yes, it is basically just an endless grind for loot.
You forget a game like Path of Exile, which offers tournaments almost each day. Amazing and exci...
Haha the excuse so shameful, yet so iconic as well! Don't think anything tops that.
Hmmm, very interesting. I never played Gears 1, but the whole "host ping" idea is another good point!
I know right!
Hahahah thats a good one :)
As a pc gamer, it even surprised me that PC gaming does so well, yoh!
I have to completely agree here, everything will be digital some day. However, I would love game developers to keep physical copies of one thing. Collector's editions! No normal physical copies.
First off, amazing piece of writing. Secondly, I agree with the author, this genre is indeed rising, especially through indie devs.
I wonder when AAA studios might attempt something like this and if the wrong big budget studio does it, would it cheapen the experience of the genre?
Also, I really need to play a few of these.
I think that is exactly what you are going to get judging by everything we've seen so far
I don't feel as if I'm paying too much for games, but that is because I am a PC gamer and Steam's prices are very good compared to what Console players have to pay.
Damn pesky thing called life!
I think it definitely can. VR and especially MS's Hololens could become such a big teaching tool as well. Very amped to see how things start to change. In some cases, like shown by the author, it already has.
I loved FC2! Wouldnt mind even seeing a remake sometime in the future.
I dont think VR will be an issue at all, in games that is. The requirements to run a VR headset, like the Rift, only needs 8gb of RAM just like new AAA titles coming out, and does not even specifies that it needs DDR4 RAM, stock DDR3 at 1333 MHz is fine.
Workstation applications in VR or Hololens type tech yeh.
Amped for this game, hopefully there wont be pay-to-win microstransations
Yeh very important to have someone with betting / game experience to do this. Hopefully it will portray a fair and balanced view.
I pre-order only for something that has a good pre-order bonus. Also sometimes if I want a physical copy of a game on day 1, its good to pre-order so no chance you wont get a copy on release.
I think there will always be people who love AC games, regardless of quality. Not saying everyone who enjoys the game falls under that category, but the game on the PC is quite literally a pain to play.
Maybe the developers can patch the combat, would at least be decent then. It has potential.
Yup, I really wanted to like it, I miss the old Prince of Persia titles!
This game looks so very very good. Wow, really need to get it sometime! With the amount of replayability the game offers, it really sounds like a must buy
