Online and the games are part of the service. You pay for both!
Cross play is always a positive thing as long as non of the platform has a huge advantage. + it helps small games with their player base.

The ''bad'' multiplat ports tend to be at console quality most of the time and not unplayable like ppl like to think. Bad in pc gamers eyes for sure, but that's because it doesn't offer what they expect..
Dark souls 1 for example. Some ppl call it the worst port of all time. But in reality it's just at tad better than the console versions, even unmodded. You can't play over 720p but the performance is still better than on 360 and ps3.
PC version of DS was basically the console version, quality wise. That's why it was criticized. Higher standards there.
I never really buy ps4 games anymore. But somehow i decided to buy Nioh of all exclusives when it was relatively new. And now It's coming to my preferred platform. Never worth it to buy games at launch i guess ;) luckily I haven't played that much anyway, so will probably buy it again on sale.
Well. EA access is good value if you are interested in those games. Playstation + and gold should take point.

While it works well on the controller, it's a bit finicky to aim exactly where you want with ranged attacks and abilities.

The difference is you have 2 paywalls and they don't even give you a good reason why. Because there is none.
And they tried charging for online with the xbox service on pc. Guess what. It failed miserably.
+ I would like to know how microsoft would try to destroy GoG and steam. Nahh, I think they will compete in the same space like every other reasonable company.
All the ppl who buy ps+ and xbox gold supports paying for online gaming. I guess If you don't want change, keep doing what you're doing.
