Yea disappointing that campaign is 30fps, I feel like it definitely could have been 60.. and the advertising is misleading because everything says 1080p 60fps, but they are referring to multiplayer only, and don't explicitly say that.

All that "needed" to be done? I think if they did a complete overhaul of god of war 3 that showed off the power of the PS4 I would gladly welcome this. Its not about doing the bare minimum to be acceptable, I want to feel like the difference coming back to the game is substantial enough that I'm excited for the release, almost as if I'm playing the game for the first time.

Awesome news! I love the competitive focus MS is placing on Halo and Gears of war. Xbox is really on track to becoming the definitive platform for competitive console gaming.
Here's hoping this stuff lifts off and gains in popularity, despite the more limited access people have to consoles over PC. All in all this is looking great for the eSports industry - keep it coming!
Xbox is actually moving away from third party deal, as stressed by Phil Spencer in a recent interview at ChinaJoy. Interestingly, Sony has been implementing 3rd party deals with games like Call of duty - complete reversal from last gen.
Not sure how it will fare on release but the Xbox Elite controller is looking like the definitive controller for gaming, especially if you play competitively - PS4 needs something like this as well
Well, Sony is doing a good job so far but I wouldn't be surprised if hype is a primary factor, most people aren't hardcore gamers like us they just buy whatever has the better price point and whatever people are buzzing about - the wii was all hype.
Lol he didn't even bother to at least list every game mentioned in the attached video for xbox - there should be at least 12, as mentioned... Great line ups from both consoles next year though

it plays miles better than gears 1 one 360 - any fan of the first gears would be ridiculous not to take advantage of the improvements they made in FPS, connection, and movement/mechanics

Supporting the PC will only continue to grow the xbox ecosystem. When you buy into these games your buying into microsoft and will now become a member of the XBOX community, through all of these cross-play services they are bringing over.
And MS is still able to position the console as approachable by keeping their biggest of blockbusters - the true system sellers - like halo 5 and gears 4 - exclusive to the console.
This is a win-win...

The thing I don't like about this is even if its AMAZING, a ballpark 10-15 hour linear campaign and no multi-player is not worth a $60 purchase IMO.
I think back to my experience with other linear cover shooters, like Gears for example, the campaigns are great,decent length (approx. 8-10hrs) great action, collectibles and secrets to find, decent story-line. But f### imagine if Gears only had single player campaign? That would only be half the experience, how dissatisfyin...
Driveclub outselling forza means nothing in terms of quality though... ps4 has a much larger install base to begin with. The game was a huge letdown for a good 2 months before its started working, and was followed up with many apologetic statements from Sony execs including yoshida himself.
So, it sold well. But that really only means that more customers got fucked over in the end, and now they know better the next time evolution studios decides to make a new game - hurts the...
Please, come on guys.... one look at the game-play in this game SO FAR, and you can clearly see its not particularly exciting. I don't believe that every reviewer out there is just "out to get Sony exclusives", especially when you actually read the article by this guy on Forbes.

As far as sprinting goes, I guess we will have to just play and find out. If there are any glaring issues, thankfully 343 is pushing out this beta a year in advance, so there is plenty of time to fix/balance everything. Looking forward to this! Gears 1 had the nostalgia factor. Great memories on that game. Gears 2 really got me hooked on the multiplayer, despite all its problems.
But as someone who plays a lot of competitive Gears, Gears 3 has my favorite multiplayer - the movement is just worlds better than 1 and 2 and the wallbounce is so nice.
