Gears and halo are amazing games that excel as competitive multiplayer shooters. Story wise they can't hold a candle to something like TLOU or many other PS exclusives. But MP wise they are superior to anything on ps. SO, I'd depends on what you value more in a game.
Gears UE is great in terms of gameplay and core mechanics, but it needs the better stat tracking and competitive rankings.. Then it would be awesome
Doesnt have to be exclusive to say the market is just in general over saturated with fps. Fallout, rainbow six, battlefront, call of duty, Wolfestein etc etc
It's one of the easiest games to pick up and play. Movement and Gunplay is great and it's not super competitive... Rarely makes me salty lol... Overall not the greatest shooter by any means but a fun one and a good way to hold me over till halo 5.
Agreed - Halo 5 is easily my fave game on xbox one so far. The multilayer just keeps getting better with the monthly updates
It's not exclusive to xbox but exclusive to MS platforms, being on the windows store.
Yes that also means it's multiplat if you consider pc a platform and yes that means it's console exclusive....
Buying it on pc means you support MS, and indirectly the xbox one-not that it should matter just trying to clarify all these technicalities
IMO Halo 5 is one of the few games this generation to implement microtrasactions in a way that feels balanced, and un-intrusive to the consumer.

Landing percise shots in perfect succession is much more difficult in halo, especially when consistent headshots are necessary... but also there is a lack of auto aim in comparison to most other shooters including destiny... You also get descoped when aiming down sight... so adapting your play in and out of scope under fire while holding a weapon like a sniper rifle takes considerable skill to pull off

Right??? Wtf as someone who played competitively in gears 3, input lag like this makes the game not viable for MP at all, may as well not even be in my library.
Coming from a huge gears fan whose easily spent over 500h in gears 3 MP I know for a fact that there was input lag. I have no problems with my x1. If the game has somehow changed since I tried It then amazing.
Do you start it up from a disc? Because I have a digital copy being played from a 2tb external hard drive.. maybe that has something to do with it?

Wish Gears 3 back compat worked well... Tried playing it and it's laggy.. Also has frame drops... Not viable for multiplayer imo
Yea I didn't use backwards compatibility on my 360 or ps3 but it's different now. The 360 has like 10 years worth of games on it, and these games all still have online functionality that extend their lifetime significantly. Gears of war 3 is still popular online and I'm looking forward to playing it. There's also games like South park the stick of truth, that came out sooo late in the generation I missed it... Well now I can play it on xbox one as well.

Ok.. and I guess to address the disagrees.. all i said is Ms recently said they are taking their focus off 3rd party. Whether or not they HAD to, and whether or not that's because of sales is irrelevant to the point that I made... and really that info provided by ABizzel just helps to confirm the truth in the statement.
Anyway, in the end of the day, if you pay for exclusive deals you can get them. Whose to say MS, with all the money that they have, couldn't have boug...
As far as multiplayer goes I completely agree.
In campaign... could go either way, gears 1`s campaign was an excellent introduction to the franchise and had great atmosphere, really separated itself from other games at the time
Don't knock it before you try it. Consistent perfect kills takes some serious skill and precision. Halo 5 is a highly competitive game, and its seriously refreshing coming off of Halo 4's somewhat forgettable MP experience.
