3 should never be ahead of 1 or 2 imo. It had the best spectacle for sure, but the storytelling was easily the weakest of the original trilogy. Plus Kratos was a one dimensional douche by the 3rd one. But hey, to each their own.

Technically yes, EA is a cushion for Bioware. However, they have never released mediocre or sub par products until they were bought out by EA in the first place. Once EA takes over and corporate starts meddling is really when the trouble begins.

Seriously? You bring up combat flight games and you don’t mention Colony Wars? I loved the original Warhawk as well but the Colony Wars series was far superior. We need more space flight games like that, can you imagine with modern graphics and possibly even multiplayer space battles?
I would like to see a slightly more in-depth crafting system. I loved the first one and got hooked on searching every nook and cranny. Uncharted never did that for me(as much as I love it) because exploration was virtually reward-less when it came to discovering treasure. I feel like it could be a little more, not rpg like it anything, just expanded upon.
It sounds great on paper, but Superman is basically a god. If it were true to the character, the player should be able to fly anywhere and through anything. Raising entire cities to the ground if one so chooses, like in Man of Steel. And unless every enemy has kryptonite, you’d be able to kick everyone’s ass right from the start. That’s also why its been so hard to get even a proper film made about him. He’s too powerful, and frankly, not all that interesting or dynamic.

I completely disagree, and clearly you missed the point of the article. Open world games can be great but run the same risk you’re talking about with boring, repetitive fetch quests as well. Not EVERY single game needs to be an unfocused sandbox to go and do whatever you want in. That, to me, is stale gameplay because so many franchises are adopting the style of a never complete, endless game.
