Lmao licensing exists for every format son...
When a game is developed for a system, it's meant to be played on that system...
PS3 played all PS1 and PS2 discs because the actual PS2 hardware was present inside the earlier PS3s...
Once they removed the hardware, boom went the BC and in came licensing issues...
Licensing issues, I guess...
Which is why I love homebrew...

Recent Mortal Kombat games have been really successful...
MK11 is in the top 10 highest selling games of 2019...
Tekken is a surprise for me too...
Early games in the series sold really well though...
Maybe it includes arcades as well...
A few points to be noted though:
1. It's really according to Ubisoft that the game flopped, which means it musta sold pretty good...
2. It's a GaaS, and almost all of them start out shitty...
