Well, not hating on X1. But i believe direct X could fix some of dev problems. -_- That's only thing X1 has over the PS4. Yet X1 just needs good first party studio, good example would be Sony's Naughty Dog Studio. -_-;;

Well, I think people are upset for few reasons.
1. Digital psn+ ps3 games are lock on the ps3.
1a. Steam PC/MAC Digital games are more mobile vs. console.
2. why can't I just stream the ps3 os onto the ps4 ram, and play games off my disc. -_-;;
2a. No profit for Sony
3. Google play applications, apple applications are locked on the account NOT the unit. The PS2 played PSX, PS3 played psx and ps2.

A. Emulator software for PS3 on the PS4 for 79.99.

Try running all image at 4k, high FX image example are heavy snow storm, heavy rain storm, lighting at 4k image, all character models at 4k, fog distance lifted, remodel all characters with high polygon count, building, lands, environment are are 3 times of the old model or more.
Try run that with 780, I dare you tell me you won't see black missing texture. Wish i could run at 4k images, but i doubt I'll notice the different. -_-;; I'm running at 2k images. Looks ...

well, in Canada they had the 299.99 for 249.99. It was on Christmas's Boxing Week. 150.00 less than PS4, and 250 less than X1.
