it's only as important as the fgc has made it. Option selects, at their core, literally just let you think less about what your opponent is doing, because an OS covers most of what they'll do next. I can see throws being a major issue, though the top players at E3 didn't seem to have too much trouble breaking them.
Sounds to me like you've only delved into the more recent ff titles. Not bashing but if you like ni no kuni and persona series, I'd have a hard time believing you dislike the entirety of final fantasy. Not to be presumptuous, my 2 cents

I fought him for 3 hours a few days ago, figured out his moveset. For an opening, always dodge towards him to the left, and use a weapon with decent range. Two handed is pretty useless against him since his attacks are so fast, unless you try and outrage him. 90% of my damage was from evasion attacks. If you hit him in the face enough you get a visceral as well. If he pauses for a sec, he's going to do a ranged attack (either extended left fist or both fists) etc etc....
Mind you, TLOU PS3 came out on a Friday so it's quite plausible.

well, good news, now you can just play cod mul 5 iplayer for weeks n nothing else. such a shame destiny is looked down on so harshly despite giving you more value for your money.

ot: Not tired of Destiny, but I am winding down from it, as there's not as much for me to do all the time. Tuesday is the best day of the week, because the weeklies reset so theres incentive to play pve again.

Lol at all the street fighter references. Sf4 not getting anymore expansions though. There has been talk of Capcom teaming up with Dimps to make a next gen fighter though, so there's that. Most people are assuming it's street fighter 5

@gamespawn I guess u don't play too many mmo's. Maybe in a typical rpg, specifically jrpg's, once you cap out you are pretty much unstoppable. But everything has end-game content. even in FF14, when i already had nearly full iLvL90 gear(back when 90 was the item level cap) it is literally impossible to solo, or even duo most dungeons. Most mmo's also follow that format. and even if we can solo a lot of things, there's hard mode and likely a hero/hell mode (or something of...

Your logic is a bit flawed. You're assuming that every new game made will be a system seller, as if everyone who wants each of these games wouldn't have a wii u by the next one. Mk8 may have had a spike, and smash brothers will likely have one as well, but after that don't be surprised if sales slow to a crawl. With maybe 50-100k spikes with their bread n butter ips.
