Wouldn't surprise me if nintendos next portable blows our minds more then a HD wii could ever. It'll keep them going for a year or 2 until they figure out what their next move in the home console market is going to be.

You may not use anything BUT your wii for a very very long time.
Nintendo can never "win" E3 in the press' eyes. They and other individuals are so desprate to see nintendo lose at this point after 4 years of wiining that there is nothing they can do. Nintendo could revoolutionize the industry another 4 times over and drop another 50 blockbuster games this E3 and people will still act like they showed nothing.
Instead they'll focus on one casual offering they might mention and completely ignore if sony or microsoft dropping something ...

Nintendo made all those awesome commercials with the crazy hunter guy and the demo discs? Plus nintendo payed for all the tv i saw prior to the release where tri had sponsored wrestling and countless comedy central shows?
SO much for "core games not selling on wii". It looks like what we all suspected was true.... Poorly advertised and promoted core games don't sell on wii. Looks like capcom finally did it right.
I just feel bad for GOW 3.... outsold by Mario Kart Wii already.

Going online i have already counted possibly 10,000 people playing online tonight at around 2 am(eastern time). So lots of people have apparently bought it... it should be a surprising result i feel. I know preorders were in low supply at my gamestop. Since this is currently one of the best advertised mature wii title to date... its hard to believe this wont do well.

It's all going to mean nothing if they don't have something more original then hd wii game knockoffs. The biggest problem i see right now is who has the room for all the crap that's gotta go on your tv for all this... i mean now if your a well equipped gamer for this genh you'll have a natal thing, an eyetoy, an sensor bar and a wiispeak mic if you dig MH tri... Someone better invent a clever plastic soultion ASAP.
If you wanna go system by system then the chances are slim it will surpass wii numbers. worst part about it is a ifeel bad for all those japanese people playing a buggy, load-time filled mess with half of the game mechanics that made it awesome completely neutered off. Wonder what famitsu rated it.
Either way these are still only japan numbers and mean very little. So I don't think these claims have as much weight as the headline seems to imply... I mean were talking a first week...
N64 had an analog stick before playstation did.
I rented it and loved it... but yeah... it's still too steep to buy yet. But until i see a 29.99 or 19.99 price tag on it I probably wont be adding it to the library just yet.
