CoD4 popularized the Modern Warfare franchise. The console gamers are a larger market than PC gamers and not as many could play BF2 as they could CoD4. Doesnt help that BF2 has stupidly high system specs for its time.
Also there has been Modern Combat games since forever, earliest I personally can recall was Rainbow 6 on the PS1.
Xiren got 4 disagrees? He/She is right. The MoH beta plays EXACTLY like CoD but Dice tried to throw in some BF weight into it and it just doesnt work.
The thing they did right was XP for killstreaks( also from CoD :P)

You dont have to pick a uniform though. All the DLC and a few of the original characters are still there unaffected. The jerseys themselves are one solid color with a 10 or a 7 on them and a tiny flag on the front of the shirt.

Silent Hill? bad graphics? That game was PRAISED for its art direction and atmosphere.
Twisted Metal 2 also came out in 1996 and back then the game looked damn good for its time.
