Theres really not alot of turned based rpgs these days compared to the past. Far as sales its hard to debate that one cause back in what alot of us call the golden era of jrpgs between the snes and ps1. Ill add snes, ps1, saturn. About 160 million consoles sold. So you were limited to those consoles sold. These days theres atleast 100 million more gamers then there was back in the day(just a guess, but still my point). Way more gamers today. FF sold great back in the day just like today.
Id love to see them give an option. was it pathfinder that gives an option of how you want combat
Started in ff12 I wasnt drawn to any of the characters. I also miss the days of the turn based jrpgs we hardly get them these days. Imo even if this ff16 came out turn based itd probably still sell 15 million plus more once it hits other gaming sytems(whether pc xbox, probably not switch though). Im warming up to it a little bit but its a crawl as im not feeling the combat at all. I dont even like devil may cry so that does nothing for me aside from turn me off. Even ff7r I really enjoyed it ...
I think they wanted the advantage of what a cheaper system couldve brought. Instead of the specs they should have just matched and dropped the disc portion. They kinda shot themselves in the foot. The s is definitely gonna cause problems now and in the future if there really is parity. Itll bring down multiplatform games to. Some devs may just drop features from games if they cant get it running, etc
Why do you guys keep bringing up final fantasy Luke ms doesn't have exclusives deals with 2rd party devs. Also one game here and there is far far different then buying up publishers plus 3rd party exclusives. Buying publishers is literally taking 10s of 100s of games off the competition.
Please fornthe love of anything stop saying Sony is paying to keep games off other consoles. One it's one game. Two it's 1 game not 100s by buying publishers.
Also microsoft has 3rd party exclusives to. Why do the Xbox fans refuse to acknowledge that ms also has 3rd party exclusives.

Interesting Richard. I may have heard of this but don't remember. I personally enjoyed blue dragon take on the old school jrpg more then lost odyssey. I enjoyed lost but the level scaling of enemies killed it for me.

Sh I finally just picked up xeno blade 1 definitive. Waiting on my wireless controller to come from the A. My only thing I'd say. Make sure those joycons are sturdy. Let's not do this drift sh again

O could still never buy the og one. If they ever came out with a whole collection with everything on it sure. At a decent price but I cant get into games that continually pump out dlc like that.
I can understand that, for instance if the devs sea of stars came out and said that. Id have an extremely hard decision to make. I used that because its my most wanted game this year.
I go back and play old games all the time. Im playing star ocean 1 right now. Meanwhile I got hogwarts on back up. I just dont understand the defense of it. To defend something that clearly isnt a big deal to you to begin with doesnt mean its not an issue. I dont get how anyone can defend this. We as consumers should shut this sh down before every game gets like this. Personally I think alot of younger people are just to shor sighted. What happens the defender turns idk 35 and their like ...

Not all of us , especially the older ones . When I say jrpg im meaning it in a good way im putting that j on that cause im happy and excited for those type of games. Ive seen advertising from some of those asian devs putting jrpg on it themselves so its probably a select few. The guy at square doesnt represent the whole industry. Maybe some do maybe most do but you cant use one guys feelings as a fact for the whole
