Much of the Japanese gaming market in the west is driven by BOTH Playstation AND Nintendo. Who happens to be in the lead in Japan is irrelevant.
Yes it is, but I would like to see it supported through updates down the line with new maps and such. No matter how good it is, if they leave it alone with one map the hype will die down considerably.

Actually exclusives sell consoles more than multiplats, that is one major reason to pick one over the other. People just also buy multiplats for the console they bought alongside the exclusives.

For a year with little to no major releases on Switch, but PS4 having God of War and Spiderman to drive sales, yes it was good for Switch.
