They've made this good looking game great. Better than anything weve seen on any platform. Especially when you factor in its scale. Yes, any platform (besides pc's crysis)
On some surfaces it is comparable to 64 sample aa (64x) however on most edges and surfaces it is of a quality varying from 16xaa to 32xaa

The thing is that its not true, God of war 3, Heavy rain, Uncharted 2, GT5 and the last guardian all look better than alan wake has been shown to look before, and that "no screen tearing" excuse was complete bs unless theyve fixed it very recently. UC2 cutscenes are prerendered but do not add anything extra, graphically, than you see during gameplay. No extra AA is added and its not upscaled, its 720p and has fullscreen AA just like in gameplay.
then again, as an example, Forza 3 developed for the 360 exclusively runs in 720p with 8 sub 120k poly ingame car models. GT5 runs in 1080p and has 16 500k poly ingame car models. thats true but the difference between the two is negligible. However the cell processor is much more powerful than the 360s cpu and also has the benefit of it's spus. Most devs push the hardware to its limit. It depends what context this was said in. If they mean their optimisations mean that they could only improve the optimisation by roughly a fifth then thats ok. However if they mean the hardware is ever idle, then thats pretty shoddy. Even poorly optimised games tend to never leave spare cpu/gpu cycles.
