The main thing is that the game was pretty much an afterthought. They admit it themselves when they said they didn't think it would do well. Now that Sega sees that the gaming audience does still enjoy Virtua Fighter, and they're looking at the future if the series. There's a roadmap for VF5 US, and that wasn't in-place prior. Here's to hoping we get some visual upgrades for the PS5 and maybe it on other platforms.

As a fan of Virtua Fighter, I'm happy to see this success story. Imagine Sega just going "Let's just release this", it won't do well. Then seeing the game being featured everywhere, causing Sega to take notice and go "Oh shit", who knew? Hoping this makes Sega go onto to it's continue support of VF5 US, the eventual Virtua Fighter 6 and maybe another Fighters Megamix.
Seeing how we know nothing about what this is... I'd say terrified for now.

I think you're missing the point. Yes, there aren't any PS5 games on PC. But at the start of 2020, there weren't any PS4 games on the PC either. Then Horizon Zero Dawn, Death Stranding and Days Gone all ended up in the PC within the past year. Then you end up with the Uncharted collection (forgot the entire name) and now God of War? Things are moving fast and PlayStation is testing the waters.

I believe that is the case. However, as I mentioned, the shortage of chips may force PlayStation to do something a bit sooner. PS4 games on PC, sure. PS5 games, maybe? Xbox Series X games on PC was a pipe dream until Xbox realized they would sell, so why not. I don't see why Sony wouldn't do the same.

Exactly. Console games can be datamined just like PC games, you just need the hardware to make it happen. There are people out there whose sole purpose is to datamine stuff.

Forgive me for caring about the gaming-centric stuff. DirectStorage is a gamechanger, and despite it originally coming to Windows 10 and then scraped, doesn't mean it's not exciting stuff. I'm a PC gamer, and if MS can make my SSD perform as well as those in the Xbox Series X, I'm all for that.

If you read the entire article, you'd see that I put that there because PC gaming isn't just hardware. PC gaming is the games, and the ability to play those games. I also added a nice bit where people who couldn't upgrade could still play games.
Hardware does not equal PC gaming. It's just one piece.
