I think it started to drift away after brotherhood or revelations. Ezio still kept to the creed and such but he just had a lot more characteristics to him. Conner and the current one Edward are just Meh, they can fight but there still sort of forgettable. Wouldn't say its butchered more along the lines of scattered. They need to take more time than a year to build a truly amazing character and story instead of what we've been getting.
This is why I'm still skeptical about even building a gaming PC. Most of them just seem really stuck up and remind me of some sort of geek/Jock hybrid that gloats to anyone and everyone about how good there car is and how everyone and the grandmother should get one or do what they do. Yes your going to get better resolution and overall graphics on the PC but I don't play for the graphics or the deals on steam or the whole " Be a PC elites " stuff I play for the games.
evolution off of the classic gameplay not a revamp of the entire thing with little things that do nothing more than just say " Hey remember this is what Halo used to be known for !!!"
I think that that will change in time.

Not really from what I've seen it could be exactly like BO2 graphically with brighter lights and 90% of the COD fans on my xbox live will buy it.

true but It would be best to judge it on multiplatform titles not exclusives. Yes activision has the time and money to create a literal new engine with better graphics and such while putting COD on hold for at least a year or have it being worked on in the background but considering how people are nowadays they could use the most oldest version of their engine and they would still sell millions. So you believe that the dog should of killed the soldier instead because as humans we shouldn't kill or harm any animal even if they are intending to kill us even in a virtual world where no souls are lost. I enjoy the single player bits but I can understand your frustration after having 343 focus more on single player rather than the multiplayer that made Halo last for years and years on its fun and addictive gameplay. The thing is that multiplayer can still be balanced and fun with the single player component and I highly doubt that any multiplayer side of a games going to be perfectly balanced at release.
IDK I would of went in full on gun blazing especially if I was out to beat COD who at this point is at its weakest.

Hmm Not really It was like an On going battle, Halo won that and then it died down with Reach which was mostly Bungie just doing another game because of the contract. COD 4 was more like CODs rise to popularity but it still lost to Halo's closing act of finishing the epic fight. The King now is COD but with the way things are going its close to giving up the thrown.
