If you ask me, DD2 is overrated. Like original had its quirkiness that was more befitting of time it released in. Sequel tried same like it is still 2012. Unfortunately for them it isn't. Same as Bethesda when they try to release Starfield like it is still 2011. So it is more like ok-ish game with rough mechanics and stuff. That also happened to launch in terrible state and bad performance. It had opportunity to adapt, release less broken and strike big, if done right and if it kept just...

It is quite funny, they forgot to market it, few days before release media were questioning if it is even coming out. Seems like everyone forgot about it and then Sony remembered and it went something like "oh, crap" and they scraped something together to "finalize it" and quickly release... :-D

I mean game didn't even have requirements listed few days before release, like go to Way Back Machine and check it out, it was bare bones Steam page with rel...

In case anyone is wondering where differences are, there is article mentioning it:
"However, there seems to be a graphical bug of sorts that results in foliage being missing and rock surfaces being less detailed in some areas."
Very obvious example being 1:14, PS5 Pro version being how it was supposed to look. Though unless you knew what should be there, you might not really notice the issue.

I never really understood why he felt the need to pass as gamer and I don't really understand why he felt the need to prove it by doing stream where it was super obvious that he doesn't even know basic mechanics. He really didn't need any of that and would likely get way better reception if he just went in on new character and try to figure things out instead. But nope, got to make fool of yourself. And paying someone to play your account won't change anything, you still are f...

Glad to hear you got good deal on it. Depending on when you look at it, sometimes they were even hard to get below 2000USD. So nice.

And yeah, didn't mean everyone, I know good portion of people didn't vote for him. Meant it more for those who did. Still, everyone, even outside USA, will just have to see what this will bring.

Dunno what people expected, but yes, this isn't unexpected. nVidia used to be gaming company first. Now they aren't. Now they are datacenter and AI company first. Because they get bigger profit margins from datacenter where entry level stuff costs above 40000USD, that isn't typo, where even 2000USD 4090 is change in comparison. Gaming is now their sidebusiness. Sort of backup to return to if datacenter ever fails or has lower demand. Right now, less gaming stuff they make and more...

That is usual, gaming had its down and up periods. I mean this is hardly the first time. But still, point stands that there are good games around. And I think call for people to look out of their comfort zones and big AAA is valid with general crowd. Yes, you and me know this. Sure I wasn't around yet back at times of Atari and stuff, I only read about that time. But I was around since 90s. Nevertheless, I do also think people remember old times with bit of rose tinted glasses too or rath...

I agree, there are examples of great games that people miss because they focus too much on big AAA releases. Where there are releases from smaller studios or even indie games that are way more fun than anything AAA made in a while. Or even go out of mainstream comfort zone. Like for me, for example. I never liked turn based games back in the day. So I never played them. And I am still not exactly lining up for next X-com. But back when it came out, I did for example give Divinity: Original Si...

Nothing new here. Consoles in terms of game development have advantage to have only one set of hardware, so you can optimize pedal to the metal for it and get max out. Often also they have more direct hardware access, which helps a lot too. Hence why they can sometimes punch above what raw hardware power would suggest. But that is well known even before.

And the other thing was Microsoft even sending their people over to help them. Something tells me this played quite big r...

I think it does, just not exactly like people imagine it. So no, it won't replace voice actors, artists or script writers or whatever. It will serve support role for either those doing more through aid of AI. Or AI being used to fill the gaps. Like imagine in Spiderman game, you got Daily Bugle, which reports on stuff Spiderman does. So instead of them writing 5 articles, then having game choose what is closest. AI could fill in the gaps, to generate article based on what witnesses saw an...

Easy for them to say, but Nintendo isn't budging as they figured out. Sony is currently winning too much to quit. And Microsoft is turning Xbox into ecosystem with PC and console and cloud gaming, plus Game Pass, so it kind of does consoles for a hobby anyway, with huge backing. So I don't see them quitting either. But more like embracing their role as more of general publisher that will also sell you console, if you need chap machine to pay its games. You got to understand that conso...

Maybe he is, maybe he isn't. But the fact is, there aren't just two extremes, either make them overly sexualized or make them overly manly and ugly. That is my gripe with whole thing, I don't need women in games to be overly sexualized. But I also don't like complete opposite either. There is healthy middle ground that just gets ignored by everyone and I don't get it why. Is it because there is this niche group that mostly isn't gamers who get hurt by it, but they are ...

Hence why now old advice goes, don't buy games on release, because you are getting the worst version of the game. When if you wait for GOTY or complete edition, not only you will get full game with all DLCs cheaper, you will also get the best version with all the fixes. All it takes is to find a way to stop that fear of missing out(FOMO), which publishers use to get you to buy game early or even before release with pre-order, by giving you bonuses that they mostly then release a bit latte...

Good looking women? Must be from Asia, without even looking for it. We aren't allowed to have that in the west. :-D

Well, lets hope they fix many issues Oblivion had. Like in a way it was great game when it came out, but very flawed one too. Though most broken thing I remember from it was leveling system. You had to not forget to sleep to level up. And in theory, that you got most stat point increase for things you did sounded good, but it was broken AF. Like if you weren't careful which skills you level up and made sure you did no mistakes, you wouldn't get combat stats you needed and you would en...

Probably features they are developing for future titles on same engine, or in other words third part, and they are easy and cheap to backport to released entry. Which also expands their options test feature in sort of safer environment, where it won't hurt anything if it isn't popular or used. Since everyone already bought the game. Plus they probably will want to eventually release whole trilogy as one game. Which will warrant feature parity between all three, so doing work ahead of ...

I am not really one to think about it. Unlike some I can separate between reality and games. I will do things in games that I would never do in reality. Simply because it is a game, a virtual world, that dog or person or cat or whatever isn't real, it is just model, texture, sound files and bunch of scripts telling it how to react. It doesn't feel pain, it is just executing script for whatever it is told to do if I shoot or punch it. Hence why I got no problem with "animal cruelt...

Sadly or not, depending on your perspective, it is very simple, birds fly, water falls and requirements for games go up. Indiana Jones is just look into the future. This isn't norm now, but it will be. And you can partially thank Microsoft for Xbox Series S for it, with its limited 6GB VRAM, among other weak specs. Developers don't like it, but if they want to release on Xbox, they need to make it work. Which is about last thing forcing them since PS4/XB1 generation aren't support...

132GB rounded up, it isn't that bad. I expected something really massive. Problematic for those with slow internet for sure. AAA gaming on slow internet sucks today. Makes me wonder if perhaps ultra and 4k quality stuff should be DLC, so those who will run game on high and 1440p or less can just not download that. But as far as sizes goes, 100GB+ is nothing that unusual.

Yes and no. This is ignoring a lot of things. Like all technical issues game has that definitely knock it down. I personally think, once fixed it should be solid 8/10, but I can't blame reviews going for 7/10, because we just can't ignore the issues or review game that we don't have yet. I can understand it, it is Ukrainian developer and war was devastating for development. But nevertheless, they are selling product. So I don't see it as unfair. Also I do need to rethink game ...
