PS2 had better games than Dreamcast. I dont really remember the dreamcast having any real games that I wanted. At least not as many as the PS2.
Now if you want to compare apples to apple it would make more sense.

Price. thats the reason. Kids dont have 600 to shell out and parents probably didnt WANT to pay 600 for a GAME console.
Wii is the cheapest and sells the most
360 ( not the arcade cause most gamers wont get that ) is second in price and sell the second most
PS3 is the most expensive and is last for the most part ( in US )
The problem here is that most Americans look for the cost of things instead of the VALUE of things.

I think that you are giving too much credit to SONY. I think that Microsoft did a WAY better job.
They launched a console early knowing that it was defective, and still get people to buy it even though its failure rate is about 30%

You.. along with other dummies are the only ones that have ever called Killzone 2 a 'Halo Killer'. Sony has never said that...nor claimed that Killzone is their "Halo"

when you are talking about SONY exclusives its done really good. Fastest to 500k. 323k the first two days ( last 2 in Feb ) and 296.
And for a system that is PRICED 1/2 lower...PS3 didnt get its ass kicked only being outsold by about 112k in the US...
Its funny to see the 360 fans complain about SONY fans when 360 announces an exclusive thats a 1yr old computer game and the SONY fans make fun of them. SONY fans get pissed when these numbers come out and its looks bad and 360 fans jump all over the numbers and claim victory when we are half way in this generation...
I also notice that 360 fans love to yell " fail " "flopzone" "sony is done" " whatever happened to the HALO killer"

The basic 360 is cheaper than all consoles.
Ps3 with wifi, harddrive, bluray is cheaper if you had that stuff on the 360...
Gran Turismo is not going to 360 and in the "console" war thats all that matters.
The only multiplat PS3 games that were inferior to the 360 were the ones that were developed for the 360 first. Then ported to the PS3. So yea, they looked crappy.
And now they are going to look crappy on both because developers want to make them the same like FF13. Which has to take the fact that 360 is DVD only, while the PS3 has the Bluray.

Great point, but its not the topic. Its states in the article that the games are worth the price. But if you can get it for cheaper, it makes sense to do it.
