I've got both a PS3 and a gaming PC, so I'm totally unaffected by this fanboy nonsense. Still, it's really hilarious to see people defend games like they're family members.

I strongly disagree. Every multiplayer game should have at least some sort of beta, lest your multiplayer experience is setback due to unforeseen technical problems.
Something can always go wrong. And during those two or three days when you're waiting for that multiplayer patch, you'll be thinking to yourself "I really wish they would have had a beta to iron these issues out for the final release."
EA is going all out this time. Medal of Honor was a piss poor attempt, but this is the real deal.
Releasing a couple of weeks before MW3 is ballsy move. EA knows that they're doing, Battlefield 3 is going to introduce a little healthy competition to the CoD franchise this holiday season.
