The PS4 and Xbox 720 is going to make it rain 3rd party titles making them the preferred console for 3rd party AAA games.it going to be nintendos 1st party titles vs exclusives and a lot of 3rd party games from the Wii Us competitor consoles.

People are saying that the Wii U doesn't have to be powerful, that the specs don't have to be good. But according to most devs that is the exact reason why they wont work on it. If Nintendo wants 3rd party support they're gonna have to change their low-tech ways. If the Wii U was on par with the PS4/X720 i think things will be alot different. If Nintendo makes a console that makes all developers happy then gamers will be just as happy.
The definition of what next-gen is seems to change as consumers expectation of what next gen is goes up. Nintendo didn't do their best to meet those evolving expectations.

Its obvious why Nintendo failed. They tried to pull a Wii on us again. The majority of gamers/devs are just saying no.
At least on the plus side if Nintendo doesn't drop the Wii u and continues to support it that will mean a whole bunch of 1st party games because that the only way the Wii u can survive but then again Nintendo is slow at developing games, maybe its because its their first time developing HD games.
Thats exactly what happened to me with the Wii.
4k will be the gen after the ps4 and next xbox, im sure after the release of the ps4/x720 both MS and Sony will be doing their R&D on 4K gaming.
Its always been Nintendos' intention to release a low-spec console and force consumers to buy it releasing their iconic franchises. It's Nintendos' belief or a religion of some sort. And I don't think anyone can make Nintendo convert religions. I expect nintendos' next console to be slightly more powerful than the PS4.
I looks like devs want a more powerful console from nintendo to run there next gen engines on. If nintendo releases a new model of the wii u with better specs devs would be satisfied.
I think devs were expecting a more powerful console than the wii u from Nintendo to give them the freedom they need develop better next gen games. I realize that nintendo is not about graphic and power but... and as NYC_Gamer pointed out the wii u is built only to Nintendos' liking not the 3rd party devs who Nintendo was counting on to develop for the wii u. Nintendos' style is clashing with the majority of western gaming culture.That and people love to compare.

i think it'll be the opposite people will compare a ps4/x720 game to a Wii U game and more statements about the Wii u being underpowered will surface. if devs are saying that the Wii U is underpowered nintendo should listen and improve their console.
Most 3rd party devs aren't satisfied with the Wii U and when asked about the Wii U they put it down in a professional way but this guy just snapped.
