Look I love some of the 16-bit offerings and I'm a huge fan of Star Trek (STD is trash) but to be real. Star Trek has never had a great game. STO is fine for what it is. MMO jank but fun. VR game is..jank but fun. 16-bit games are jank but fun. Star Trek isn't the best series to make a game out of. It would have to be something deliberate and slow but also very open. That's tough to do.

The XB series is fantastic. It's better than FF has been in almost 2 decades but comparing them to SNES/PS1 era FF. FF takes it. I don't like to compare XB to another series and proclaim better. It's a great series on its own. If I were to comapre it to any RPG series. I would say XB is the closest we have to mainline Phantasy Star games again.

I have zero interest in DS but I always find it interesting when a new studio is formed out of disgruntled employees of big publishers. Treasure from Konami. 3D0 from EA. Monolith & Mistwalker from Square. Platinum & Game Republic from Capcom and many more. They get to make what they want.

Dude. That ship has sailed. They abandoned the engine. The game is canceled. They renewed the trademark so no one else takes the IP Just in case they want to come back. Nintendo every couple of years renews Eternal Darkness TM but do nothing with it. As DD has been dead a few years. It created a lot of turmoil within Capcom. They left the project and worked on the RE Engine and DMC5 and RE2 instead.
