It wasnt Sony that didn't help. It was PS3 fans that didn't support the game.
PS3 and 360 are last gen. Wii is the only next gen. However the PS3 and 360 are both rushing to be part of the same generation as Wii, because they both have their own version of motion controls on the way... Now if Wii was last gen, why would Sony and MS be investing in the same kind of technology for the future of their own consoles?
Looking back I have to admit that EQ is a complete POS compared to most current MMO's. Sorry but it just has too many time sinks. First it can take a very long time to top out. Along the way it's an extremely boring process with very little questing at all. I think I did more quest in the first 2 zones of Warcraft than I did going from 1-60 in EQ.

There are hundreds of free MMO's out there that make millions a month through micro transactions and they are not a major company like Sony. NO excuse and no reason to pat them on the back..
Wow is very close to EQ. Didnt ruin anything it actually fixed a lot of the problems with EQ.. You really think 30 minute meditations between fights was cool or fun? Of course it wasnt. Sony just had a prgram that swapped out the controller for other objects. Eyetoy was doing that long ago and its nothing new or impressive. Make a game using two Wii remotes and you have what Sony is attempting to make.
Wii is a Honda. It's reliable, and its what most people want.
360 is a Kia. Built with cheaper parts to make it more affordable but not as reliable as a Honda.
PS3 is an amphibious car. Has two main functions. One which most people dont care for that hinders the other abilities of the car and holds it back. Its difficult to drive and hard to repair because its too damn difficult to work on.
