The same thing happened with MS due to 3rd party memory cards and hard drive backup caddies.
I for one are glad they are now band. I realise i may get a few disagrees and I do realise some people bought them for good reason because they are cheaper and bigger. Unfortunately some bought them just to trade game saves and even make websites so they can sell achievements and trophies.

How surprising PS3 owners (only) take up this 360 thread. This is why most Wii, 360 and PC owners moved elsewhere where they can talk freely without abuse about games and their experience and not immaturely say how s**t other consoles are.

Couldn't give a hoot about the difference in graphics. For me Mass Effect 1 really blew me away with storyline the fact you can to a degree change the outcome of the story. I was never really interested in this type of game genre before i played M.E. If Bioware improve on this its just a bonus. Getting rid of the 3 minute elevator ride every so often will make this amazing!
...And a lot of people wont be able to see too much of a difference between the 1080p and 720p video cutscenes considering most own HD Ready (720p) screens.
Yes the PS3 will be superior verion but i don't think the difference will bother anyone.

I spent £1k on an LCD which has been bettered 10x over in the 3 years since i've bought it, why do you think console hardware is any different.
ATI and Nvidia are releasing better and better Graphics cards, Intel and AMD are realising super fast 4ghz quads and so on.
One thing that has to be considered is if Sony plan to stick with the PS3 and MS or Nintendo decide to release a console soon with superior graphics (say 1080p @ 60fps standard...
Actually both DVD 9 and Blu-Ray have there weaknesses.
DVD has obviously less storage, Blu-Ray is much slower hence the reason why some PS3 games force an install.
Most people couldn't give a rats a$$ about Dolby True HD and lossless audio either. I would honesty love to know the percentage figure of how many PS3 owners actually own or will ever own a 7.1 True HD compatiable surround sound amplifier.

Forget about the recommended retail price i paid £26 for COD MW2 the day it was released not the £44 RRP.
Plus i don't think any 360 owner feels cheated as to paying the same amount for a DVD as a Blu-Ray considering that the PS3 version is still only around 8 GB - think about all that wasted space.
Please consider the fact that you are talking about multiplatform games that are identical if not better on a 8gb dvd than a 25gb blu-ray.

A console that took much longer to devolop came out a year after, more expensive, yeah i wouldnt be surprised that the ps3 has more power. The problem for most people is that only a few games have exceeded the quality of the 360. Throw around as much as you like Uncharted 2 and Killzone 2 thats like 2 games out of 200 or whatever.
my understanding is this (in summary)
PS3 has a more efficient CPU optimized for gaming but the NVidea graphics card isn't as good as ATI one of the 360
360 - Not as good CPU as the PS3 from a gaming perspective but much better GFX card.
PC - depends greatly on gfx card doesn't matter if you have a double core, triple core or quad the faster and more expensive GPU's No1 requirement is power supply wattage.
As all games are developed on a PC ...

I dont agree entirely with MS regarding the the fact that Silver membership is almost useless. Yes at least PS3 owners can play online for free. Me personally i cant see there being any difference in me paying a premium to PS3 owners paying a premium to get cross game chat which is apparently being offered.

Looking at the previous threads there is a lot of PS3 owners who would be willing to pay for the Premium subscription (if it's going to happen)
PS3 users are used to paying nothing and still they wouldnt mind paying a little extra to get the VIP treatment as most 360 owners have been doing for sometime.
I like the fact that when i get kicked of the 360 downstairs cause the missus wants to watch her soaps and dramas i can go on the pc and play Games for Windows titles to increase my gamerscore/acheivements and still message my friends who are on 360.

I cant understand why anyone would buy a second (brand new) 360 when their existing one conks out.They could either get a refund/replacement from the shop or repaired for free with the RROD 3 year warranty. Doing this surely doesn't count as another transaction/purchase otherwise you may as well count how many 2nd hand consoles have been repeatedly sold from ebay.
