In response to your argument that
"GTA V as if it is a soap opera (especially Trevor and Micheal relationship) while The Last of Us is a hbo/highly regarded BBC drama/mini series. Each to their own but the gulf of quality is clear"
This is where I feel TLOU always gets away with a crime( And please remember I absolutely love TLOU )
TLOU clearly has the best story in a game out there, and if it were a tv show i'd rather watch TLOU, but as a gam...
Really doesn't change anything about it though other than having two bridges no?
SA definitely isn't better than V, it's nostalgia talking. It was way ahead of it's time when it came out but if you were to compare the two now playing them both for the first time you'd be incredibly in favour of GTA V I'm sure of it.
Far as I'm concerned online was an addition. If online takes it from a 10/10 to a 9/10. then forget the online because it's not mandatory.
Hahahaha That's such a ridiculous statement to make, You may need to get your eyes/possibly brain checked, Have a look at some Dark Souls videos and compare them to Bloodborne, you should definitely see similarities. And don't get me wrong I think Ryse is great, it's just so different I can't believe you said that hahaha!
Genuinely thought it looked like a really average 3rd person shooter. Sorry to be a downer, certainly hope I'm wrong.
Takes waaaay too many hits to kill the zombies for me, like the brute ones I had to hit about 30 times before he went down. Made the game far too repetitive, if they change that it could be a great one.
That's exactly right. I have both XB1 and PS4 and have ordered it on XB1 because most friends bought XB1, and I remember most games having a better network connection and less bugs on 360 than PS3.
Nah mate I practically buy this for Career mode, I'll play the odd online game until I've won division 1, then the rest of my time is spent on career mode, Some years I finish all 15 seasons in the 1 career. Don't even touch UT I despise it.
Journey is one of those games I always regretted never getting round to playing on PS3, Glad I can experience it for the first time looking gorgeous on PS4.
@falviousuk
OK Sorry I didn't realise it came out on others since I only saw it on PS and I was 5 years old.
Nice jumping to conclusion's that I'm a Sony fanboy though. I've had a PS,N64,PS2,XBOX,GC,360,PS3,WII ,WII-U,PS4, And an XB1 so calm yourself down. I did buy the DE of Tomb Raider for the PS4 though so I am a little pissed off at MS.
It's more the fact that TR originated on PS and was exclusive for a long time, then it went to both consoles and nobody complained, but now it's not even on PS anymore that's ridiculous! It'd be like suddenly not having Mass Effect or Elder Scrolls games on XB1 anymore.
Still an absolutely outstanding game! Definitely in my top 10 favourites, top 5 at a push
People who don't play games can enjoy the story though. It's win/win for us because if it's good then we'll enjoy it and if it's bad we don't have to worry about it because we have the game.
Don't think we are, when you buy a remastered game at the start of a consoles life you have a guaranteed game that you love for at least 5+ years until the next console. Whereas some people might have had to trade in or sell their old games to help afford the new consoles and only have a short time to enjoy the likes of TLOU and GTA V.
Now I can know comfortably that I can pop TLOU in my PS4 at some point in 2016 without any hassle. If you are already sick of it on the old consol...
Yes it is overrated, and I'm glad there are still article's like this one that ask the question rather than everyone agreeing that the game is perfect. It's a bloody amazing game, but it isn't an absolutely perfect, flawless, God's gift to gamers.
I actually preferred GTA V last year if I'm honest I thought the sheer size and detail of that beautiful game coupled with the very fun missions and how hilarious some of the scenes were with trevor,It was a stunning...
Yeah that pretty much sums up everyone's behavior until the hype dies down a bit, I think the game is brilliant personally, it plays out like Uncharted but with a bit more stealth and cunning, mix in a few zombies and the mo-cap actors are great, but if it's not for you then fair enough, definitely give it a go though as its most likely you will enjoy it. Only downsides are the A.I being a bit retarded sometimes and the fact it's quite short, but you'll want to play it again on...
Best multiplayer? You are off your tits on cocaine! Halo? COD? Dark/Demon Souls?
Best stealth? MGS is miles better and so was Splinter cell, even go as far as to say Deus Ex, Dishonoured and Hitman had better just off the top of my head.
Best story? No. Probably the best acting I've seen brought to mo-cap and pacing of a story but it's not like it was actually a better story than say KOTOR or Mass Effect for example.
I think what makes a game great is ...
Yeah It's a great representation of gaming for other mediums, I was just referring to within the gaming community, It feels like everybody is still on board the hype train and most people are too scared to admit the game was amazing but it wasn't easily the best ever made.
But why is it when we're comparing two games are we just comparing the story? That's where I feel TLOU get's to have a free pass on it's gameplay which isn't perfect, and that's okay for a first outing of the IP. But it's not fair on GTA to be comparing the story's because it's so much more than that, it's an open world sandbox game with so much freedom and variety and humour, you can shoot, stab, blow up,punch, kick, drive.fly, run, swim, cycle, parac hute,g...
