My concern is that you pass the threshold when quality takes a hit because you try to save money no matter the cost of other aspects.

Exactly this!. I would agree that most fans want good competition. If both produced good games and had a healthy wiew of our gaming hobby i would go for the best and most price worthy hardware.

This!. My first computer i built used an Intel 486sx25 cpu so i have built a few over the years. I still have a decent PC but since Ps2 and the original Xbox i prefer playing on console. It was Xbox that actually intreduced me to one of my now favorite games of all time , Morrowind (even with all the crashes).
i can agree there are a few as you call them fanboys here (on all sides) and sometimes the discussions get away from topic just for the sake of trolling it feels like but you shouldnt say to much chief beacuse i wouldnt call you exactly neutral and you have made quite a few comments i would call toxic or atleast made just to stir things up..
