This is very much my opinion. I believe that if it was made accessible - even for a few levels or areas - the series would gain a fan in people who don't usually enjoy the game.
Why?
Goldeneye is one of - if not the only - favourite of mine on the list.
Some really good choices though.
Can I ask why?
I love the article but I disagree wholeheartedly with most of the choices, my list would go as follows:
Minecraft
Demon's Souls
Home
Super Mario Bros.
The Walking Dead series 1
Hitman:codename 47
Resident Evil 4
Civilisation revolution
'splosion man
counterspy
It's a wonderful game with a few issues but they don't detract from the overall experience, if you love RPG's, you'll love this.
It's not *that* dark though when you sit down and play it, Dishwasher was definitely darker.
The relationship mechanic does add something fresh but it is hard to say who 'will' and 'won't' enjoy this new feature.
One thing worth trying though is the 'create' feature, hours of fun to be had with that!
Iceman, I would watch that movie more than would be considered healthy!
Pokemon Stadium has finally been done with the correct amount of love and respect.
I love the review but am kinda saddened by the prospect of fewer characters than I expected.
The point of immense worlds is to make the player feel significant to matter but insignifcant enough to make no difference to the proceedings, I feel like this will do that well.
I like the fact that there will be planets one will visit that may never be found by another person, it adds to the isolated feeling of space.
I feel that it will counteract any feelings of despair through loneliness by continuing to offer new experiences and new surroundings which will ultimately mak...
I have always observed it as the perfect experimental piece, and in being the perfect experimental piece, it manages to surpass it's final product inspiration.
I understand the 'draw distance' argument but consider it was released in 2009 by a developer who had only given Armored Core and King's Quest in the past, I believe they did a fantastic job.
As for the combat, I don't find Demon's Souls combat any slower than that of Dark Souls 2.
Ratchet and Clank were the first PS2 characters I ever encountered - demo came with the console - and I loved them from day one.
I am glad they have made a - hopefully triumphant - return.
I really enjoyed the article and I hope we see some of the old classics returning over the coming years.
I would especially love to see Medieval make a return or a new Spyro game!
Personal favourite point of the article: the 'Go West' reference!
I always loved the sheer character of Demon's Souls, it set a precedent for what games can and can't do and it used it's environment in a way which had never been done before.
It quite simply is, beautiful.
I love GOW so much but I just don't love it enough to take the plunge for an Xbox one, not when PS4 has superior hardware.
ME was a fairly perfect piece of playable content.
I feel that it may benefit from a re-release if assigned to a multiple-game pack or something similar but as far as a standalone release goes, I just don't see the point.
I enjoyed the article tremendously.
I don't begrudge them for trying to make as money as possible - that's business.
I begrudge them when they aren't honest about their intentions and try to fashion it into a "we're doing this for you, the fans" argument.
I am personally, a fan of segmented releases for 'some' games and I think that, as with Hitman, it can be done and DOES make sense, I just don't want EVERY developer to try this, can you imagine a multi-part series Dark Sou...
I dislike the Dark Souls games immensely, however, I love the preceding, Demon's Souls game.
I feel that even though Demon's Souls came before Dark Souls, it just feels more fresh and challenging, there is a large amount of hand-holding in Dark Souls and I feel that this reduces the impact of the game's atmosphere.
I never really found Dark Souls difficult but it was a huge grind and it was never a grind I was happy to undertake, whereas, Demon's Souls is consi...
It's a shame about the confirmation but I have it on good authority that the laid-off individuals are not going to struggle finding new work.
Defy are at it again apparently.
I loved LRR, MovieBob, Yahtzee, Jim Sterling and Desert Bus.
Over the years EM has lost a great deal of respect and writers.
It's unfortunate because the site used to be brilliant,I blame the absence of Susan Arendt - she was brilliant, Tito just couldn't hold up.
The difficulty is something it has become 'known' by but the point of ANY game is to offer an enjoyable experience to gamers if the game offered a lower difficulty level it would benefit by allowing itself to be infinitely more playable by all kinds of audiences. Saying that Dark Souls SHOULD be hard is proof that the message and mission of the Dark Souls games are lost on most. The Souls games are wonderful and sometimes difficult gameplay experiences but at their core, they offer a ...
