We liked Gears 5, but we grew up on the original and if we had to choose between them, Gears of War: Ultimate wins all the way. Ori was another choice but I never personally got into it and Forza Horizon 4 I owned, but I haven't enjoyed a racing game since Forza Motorsport 4.
Sadly for us, Xbox really was lacking in exclusives that hit the mark. Another issue with it is that half way through the generation, Xbox's games were slowly added to PC so even then they aren't exclusive anymore.
It was great, and it's sort of a sour one for me at the same time, Xbox really got outdone by their third-party releases. AC is an example of an incredible game, ship-to-ship combat was so fun to just go out and do!
Its interesting though because that would mean you fit in to that category who use/see the switch as a secondary console, which is totally ok in reality. I get what you're saying though, I'd love more features like the ability to watch Netflix, and a LAN port would be a welcome thing.
I don't think that is necessarily true. Nintendo gets sales because of their first-party games. The hardware has literally nothing to do with it really.
Also price point is ridiculous, £70 for new games on next-gen, £50 for switch titles. In no way do you spend more.
Interesting point, but they aren't necessarily competing with them at that point, they are doing their own thing right? I guess that can be seen as a way of competing.
But that's not the point. People don't buy Nintendo for the multiplatform games - they buy for Nintendo and their first-party titles. The sales say it all - not everyone wants another console doing the same as everyone else.
I get it to a degree, their games would look beautiful on better displays, but I don't think its a need, especially because the trade-off will likely be the handheld mode.
Disney is not a good comparison but I agree with what you mean about secondary consoles.
I think it'll probably go to PC most, one of the few games I reckon.
I've decided to give Odyssey another chance to try and change my mind completely in the meantime, i'm not holding out much hope.
Ubisoft hasn't been great for this sort of thing, look at Anno 1800.
I pretty much agree. I'm holding out as much hope as I can and if anything, the world might win me over. Who knows really, ill wait for a few reviews probably.
Its different. A different company and a different game. Doesn't make it all bad.
I wouldn't worry too much, 60fps in cod is all you need for quality gameplay.
Black Ops has one of the best campaigns going, super-hyped for it :)
Props to Treyarch ey? They've brought a potential game changer out. Sadly most my friends won't give it the time of day because of the differences between this and Modern Warfare. Sad, really.
You're not necessarily wrong completely there, but even so, you don't then disregard what everyone else is saying because of a small few - thats too narrow-minded and means no diversity.
I guess we've got to find some answers before spending a small fortune though?
Couldn't of put it better ourselves. So disappointed by this gens line-up on Xbox One, I really think it's because the pushed this who "Home-entertainment" console vibe. Completely right with the Playstation thing too, next week we are releasing our Playstation list, and the thing is, atleast 8 of them are/were exclusive when they launched.
