Agreed. I'm a believer in artistic freedom and if Bioware chooses to double down on alternative lifestyle choices for the next Mass Effect then so be it. The risk to Bioware is that it may alienate a significant portion of their audience who then choose not to purchase the game.
The only things that bothered me about The Force Awakens was the similarities to Episode IV, and Rey being a 'Mary Sue'. I've yet to see Rogue One but I'm not a fan of the retconning. I enjoyed the original trilogy back in the day, but I find myself no longer excited by the current and recent Star Wars movies.
