I really hope that the kickstarter manages to get $10M though I won't be donating to this as I never played the originals and the campaign itself doesn't appeal to me.
I personally feel that gamers who missed the first two games may choose not buy Shenmue III when released. SEGA should take advantage of this situation and produce an HD remaster of Shenmue 1 & II as this could boost sales. It could be a win-win situation for gamers and SEGA.
If Shenmue 3 does well in sales then it might lead to a possible 4th title but it is way too soon to tell.
