It also had questions on backwards compatibility for disk or digital games and also accessories.

Perhaps some people feel this way because their social awkwardness makes them fear rejection from the opposite sex. For them, a 2D girl will never reject them and always love them. Traditional video gaming will be around for quite a long time before VR technology will make a significant dent in the market. It is possible in the future that VR will replace other methods of gaming in regards to giving the gamer the best 'experience' because of immersion.
Once the e-sports member start getting WAGs (wives and girlfriends) like footballers etc, then it will be popular, and that will only happen when they get paid $m salaries and prize money. /s
