If you cant tell the difference, then please get your eyes checked.
GT5 Prologue isn't even true 1080p (1280x1080) and it still looks way better than Forza 2.
Play Wipeout HD in 720p (it becomes 1280x720 4xAA) versus 1080p mode (1920x1080 no AA) and you'll see the difference.
Everything in 1080p is Crispier and much more clearer.
It's more about distance and how clean everything looks.
For example, like Wipeout HD. Looks amazing from 2 feet away, and looks even more amazing at 5 feet away.
Then they realized that the 9 people that bought it before the 2 has already broke the CD in half due to insanity from listening to it.
Just make FFVII for the PSN for $20 and I'll be happy.
Actually you say the PSP is getting worse. It actually went from PSP-1000 to a better PSP-2000, and now to a slightly worse PSP-3000. And to be honest, the PSP-3000 is better in some ways. More so with color Accuracy, and vibrancy. It's just the scan lines that is the main gripe from what it seems. And the 3000 still has better buttons and a built-in Microphone and I think is again lighter by 11% I think?
And no this isn't some Fanboy Spin. It's just my opinion.
While I agree that the overall look of Bioshock also stemmed from using the Unreal Engine. There are certain things about the Unreal Engine that is universally annoying. One of them being the texture-streaming. Even in Gears 2, they still did not do improve the texture-streaming.
When the game loads up, characters and the environments show up dull blank until the textures load up.
Wow Sony, thank you for giving a big "F U" to Qore users.
Sony, watch and learn.
Now THAT'S a good representation of very high graphics.
The person in the article's screenshots IMO all look like crap.
Honestly, looking at the screen the PSP-3000 looks better. The warm color is actually more accurate than the cooler color gamut of the PSP-2000. However, looking at the pictures up close, you can see those scan lines which seems to be the main gripe.
But as far as color vibrancy and color accuracy, it's more spot-on than before.
Overblown. Exclusively, on N4G.
I beg the question, why cant 2K just come out with the game multi-platform.
What Lightning360360 is missing, is the fact that those BIG third party games are still coming out on the PS3. If they weren't, then that'd be a problem for Sony.
But Sony has the luxury of making their own big 1st party exclusive games, on top of the big 3rd party multi-platform games.
"People should stop thinking developers are charitable organizations instead of companies for profit. "
HAHAHAHAHAHAHA you hit the nail on the head with that one.
"The one thing you forget is that Eidos charges for the DLC content that you get off of XBL. That is where their incentive to provide it to MS is."
Here's where your logic fails a bit my friend. If it's really all about making the most incentives through selling DLC. Then the wisest thing to do is release the DLC on ALL systems.
So the OP is correct, it's an exclusive "DEAL" only between MS and Eidos.
True that Sony does have the option to approach developers and mooch them with money as well.
However I like the latter, Sony rather make their own 1st party games that take advantage of their system. So I'm all for that.
But like I said, if you own both systems. You wouldn't feel shafted no matter what each company did. MS could roll out all the "exclusive" DLC and it won't matter. Sony could roll out all the 1st party exclusive games and it won't matter. ...
GTA IV is pretty old news now and a lot of people are bored with it after beating the single player. However it could work in the DLC's favor because the DLC might actually just spark someone to play it again. I know I am. Especially if it's in San Andreas my blood is going to boil with excitement.
However, it's still unfair to my PS3 brethren. But if they really really really wanted to play all that extra DLC, then I say just buy a 360 and be done with it. Have both systems, so ...
If you have an HDTV, just go to avsforums.com and look for your corresponding TV. Chances are, there is a calibration thread with a lot of people's setting. Then you can just try out the one you like most.
"Worldofwar.net are reporting that a plague has stuck players in World of Warcraft."
I'm guessing they mean "Struck" players.
But good job Blizzard, just come out with two more expansions and you'll be as rich as Microsoft.
I'm curious for pictures to back up these claims.
I already played Fallout 3 on the 360. I don't think this should stop PS3 gamers to buy the game. And if there are any differences at all, they are probably minimal like most other ports.
Unless it's half the resolution and runs at 15 frames per second, then okay don't buy it then.
@7.5
No, GT5 Prologue runs 1280x1080 2xAA resolution 60fps in-game. In replays they cut it down to 30 frames per second to retain detail on all the cars. The garages are the only thing true HD which is 1920x1080 no AA.
@jackdoe
Yes I agree with that statement. There is hardly (if any at all) a difference between upscaled 1080p and 720p. Given the fact that most games are Native 720p anyway, which is what makes this article FUD.
