and as for a rental, itll cost about 6-8 pounds to rent a ps3 game, which equates to about 12 - 16 dollars, money i would much rather spend on another game like warhawk when the retail version comes out

im sorry but thats what reviews are for, to help you decide a purchase. i hate it when people tell you not to take heed of reviews, games cost enough as it is, even renting games will cost enough if you rent pretty much every game. however if it is a game that you like the look of, or you're really fond on the genre, then reviews shouldnt matter.
anyway, at the matter in hand, if it is true that reviewers tried to do a rush job on reviewing, then thats disgusting. theyre payed ...

its like for me, if they made a game based on rome/medieval 2 total war, where you command an entire army but you control a single character in epic battles, to me sounds like an awesome idea, but i bet it would turn out rubbish.
