Neh, consoles stopped being boxes to play games on. Now they have pointless feature upon pointless feature. I don't want social bs, I don't want the console to be an all in one media monster. If I bought one of the two new console I would feel like I am paying for shit that I just don't want in a console. The locked nature of the platforms is also keeping me away.
The portables also lost some of their charm...which sucks cause mobile gaming is not a valid alterna...

Sorry to burst your bubble but there won't be any Steam-like sales on PSN. Steam has these massive sales because the competition when it comes to digital distribution on the PC platform is huge. As long as PSN is the only way to purchase the games there won't be any real sales.
On PC aside from Steam you have stuff like Gamersgate, Green Man Gaming, the Humble Store, GetGamesGo and quite frankly hundreds more.
A third...damn the consoles are behind. I don't even have a dvd/blu ray drive in my PC anymore. Haven't bought a physical copy in years.
The defining years for narrative and storytelling were the ones when Black Isle and Interplay were in business making the best written RPG's in history of gaming.

I am saving alot of money this month. First Ghosts, then X Rebirth, now Need for Speed. So thats $180 left in my pocket. Also since Assasins Creed 4 delay shows that Ubisoft still doesn't care about the PC I will wait till it goes on sale for next to nothing.
Not a fan of DLC but I think I'll spend some of that money for BF4 Premium thing. A little thank you for a proper PC version and good communication when it comes to fixing the weak launch.

What everyone needs to remember is that most of the old Blizz talent has jumped ship a long time ago. There is very little of the old team that made D2 on the D3 team. Basically this opinion doesn't mean poo.
The fact that Activision and Infinity Ward actively ignore the PC community and release awful broken ports that are missing PC specific features is a bad reason? Good to know, I guess I was just over reacting after purchasing a game I could not play because it was locked at an headache and vomit inducing FOV that is standard for consoles and TV gaming and not monitors. Don't I feel stupid.

What makes me even sadder is that I need to wait for a TotalBiscuit video to get a proper view of a PC port. It's depressing how useless most reviews from major sites and magazines really are.
Jeebus that video makes me sad. I was still holding out hope for the game cause I generally enjoy the CoD mp...but god damn. It's amazing that a company can become so big while ignoring a whole group of potential customers.
Deal breaker or not, it is damn disapointing. It was obvious for a long time that a jump in quality that we saw in the case of PSX=>PS2, Xbox=>360 will never happen again, but these news that keep showing up are disheartning.
It's as I feared and consoles have stopped being consoles. They are media boxes. Games are only one element, and sometimes it seems it's not the most important one.

Neither Uncharted nor Batman was influential. Where do you see it's influnce? I am surprised that there isn't Minecraft seeing that the build/survive genre is booming. Also I am not sure which game it should be but there should be something with Zombies, don't remember what started the boom in zombie games though.
