Don't take this the wrong way, it's just that i am curious, and you mention "The End of Playstation", did you meant PS3?
I don't think it will be the end of Playstation brand overral, PS3 might not sell well comparatively to XBOX 360 as yet, but from engineering and future proven perspective, it has potential to grow and outlast X...
I really enjoy all kind of JRPG, but i find this game very different in all aspects, it remind me of a favorite game Ring of Red on PS2. No other game like it. It really tested my patience and brain at the same time.
Granted, this game is not for everyone, but i should say this, give it a try, it's actually very rewarding.
But i will grab FEAR 2 - it looks really good.
You should buy a PS3, it won't hurt you really, who knows you might like it.
I owned an xbox 360, but it RROD on me twice (2nd time - i got it after 7 weeks) so i never touch it again.
PS3 got some good games, granted it won't have the exclusives that the x360 has, but x360 won't have MGS4 as well. You should try it and be a grown up about it. It is the best machine around.
I have a few answers, maybe, it's a matter of economics
1. More and more young people work harder and no time to play
2. Less people under 35 OWN their own house today rather than 30 years ago (everything go up in price and i think in Japan, there is a high percentage of rental - one of the highest in the world)
3. and lastly, time = productivity, less time gaming.
That's what i can see... until the economics get better, everything is slowing down ...
I think the intention is to make it like James Bond, different actors every few movies so it's forever young and relevant. But i agree, she's too innocent and don't have the hard femine look of Lara Croft as potrayed in the games. But that just my opinion.

I agree with everything in there, but i will still purchase silent hill because i play the first 4 and Silent Hill origins on PSP, might as well go all the way.
Probably only buy about 5 games max from now to December. They should start spreading all this games out next year and be more consistent (I wish).
You can believe it or not, none of my work colleague in Japan nor majority of my friends and their kids in Japan even interested in buying Microsoft xbox 360. Looking historically, Japanesse are very proud people. I study and grown up in Japan since i was very young even though i am only half Japanesse.

I purchase this game (in full) via Play-asia.com (the ASIA version is in English), and i must say that i really enjoy playing it. Sometimes it can be very frustrated in terms of it's control and camera angles, but once you skim a few chapter through, it's actually add the depth of it's overral gameplay and settings.
Sometimes i wonder why at the beginning of each chapter, the character loses the weapon he/she acquarie previously, but it's OK as finding new weapons actually part...
Folklore is the game that actually make me purchase a PS3 (Cause there is no other that interest me at the time).
You will not be dissapointed, it's really fun capturing all the Folks and don't forget to download some extra Contents from the PS Store, it really makes a lasting impression. I really do hope they make a sequel, and maybe next time with more PS3 owners out there, it will be appreciated even more.
Typical of Microsoft, monopolise the market with their money. We will see who will have the last laugh, money is not forever and i think people will start to resent it.
Im really glad that SONY are very optimistic in their outlook, and it will flow down to the consumers. In time we will see who's comes out the winner. I bet my house that it will be SONY.

One thing that SONY is lacking today is a good JRPG. Japan just release "White Knight Chronicles", so far SONY only have 1 JRPG, which is "Eternal Sonata". I did not count "Folklore" as it is not JRPG in a sense of traditionality.
