All good, but in addition to the private races feature, the one thing I want to see is the Nurburgring track that we all saw photos of early this summer. Come on, Polyphony! This game is getting old fast!

-->350ZRunner: Nice post. I am totally with you. I too am so sick of the busy-bodies constantly trying to impose their thoughts and values on the rest of us.

I would agree that violent games should not be played by young children, which begs the question: Why are they letting kids who are obviously too young to be playing such a game play GTAIV? DUH!!!

If you are "mature" enough to know the difference between fantasy and reality, though, then there's no reason why you shouldn't be allowed to play violent games. I haven't seen anyone running around my neighbourhood with night vision goggles and a silenced pistol, so the Spl...

Personally, I think that MS will pay whatever it has to in order to keep it exclusive. I doubt that they're going to let this come to pass.

HP wanted HDi used as the interactive software of choice on Blu-ray, but the decision was made to adopt BD-Java as the software program to be used. I would also refer you to comments made by Jeff Bell at the Vegas CES, where he said that Microsoft would still love to sell HDi to the Blu-ray Disc Association. From what I hear, HDi is actually easier to program and more efficient than BD-Java, so there is hope that we could see it used on Blu-ray, although I think that Sony may stick-to-their-g...

Sony's not helping itself, though, by keeping the prices high for Blu-ray discs. As much as I love high-def, I don't want to pay $34.99 and up for movies, unless they come packed with features and extras. Sony needs to get the prices of those movies down as soon as possible if they want their format to thrive.

I would love it if there were bikes in GT5. Heck, I would love it if they became DLC for GT5 Prologue, along with some more tracks and cars, of course.

Now THAT is the news I have been waiting for! Yee-Haa!!!

At long last we have the controller that should have shipped in the beginning. Gee, so much for the idea that rumble and SIXAXIS couldn't co-exist. Right, Phil? Oh, that's right, you're gone now.

Microsoft would like DD to take over now, now that they're working on whether they can/should/will adopt a Blu-ray drive, so of course their going to pooh-pooh anything else that's on a disc now, the same way that Toshiba did when they bowed out.

Personally, while I think that DD will be the future (albeit somewhat semi-distant), I don't hope that Blu-ray dies a quick death.

Utter claptrap.

Microsoft developed VC-1 (which Blu-ray uses also) and HDi (which Microsoft also wants the BDA to adopt), and both were part of HD-DVD. Microsoft wanted both those products, and HD-DVD, which used those products, to succeed.

I am so sick of every retard, who fantasizes that he or she is a journalist, running stories like this. Do your homework; do your research; and then write an article that deserves more than being just butt-wipe in a Siberian g...

Tell you what: Give me the update that allows me to at least bitstream dts-HD High-Resolution and Master Audio, and I will be a happy guy! : )

Oh, thank heavens! Finally!

Personally, I hope that the "big guy" himself is doing the colour commentary, but the fact that we're going to have real commentators back is great news.

Now, if we can just have the ability to mix-and-match playbooks as we can in the PS2 version, then I just might be interested in getting Madden this year.

The comments on this board make the article that I just read about "why fanboys suck" all that much funnier! : D

As someone who owns both consoles, I am still playing most of my games on the 360. However, the new rumble controller for the PS3 may start to make me think twice about that from here on in. We'll see how it goes.

At this stage of the game, and with the prize so close at hand, I would think that Sony (and all the other companies implicated in the lawsuit) will either just pay her to shut her up, or hire someone to have her killed. :D I'm kidding about the last part, of course, but I would think that these companies aren't going to let this little old professor stop them now.

I have to agree with you on blogs. I hate it when I think I am about to read a real news story, only to find out that it's just a ramble on some nobody's "personal" blog. That's not news, it's a frigging blog, for crying out loud!!!

I haven't noticed too many problems with movement yet, with the exception of one scene in Casino Royale, but I would like to see that on a regular player before I make any kind of judgment. Personally, I love how the PS3 has been upgraded as we've gone along. They added the 1080p/24Hz option, Profile 1.1, and now Profile 2.0. Frankly, if they can add a way to at least bitstream dts-HD Master and High Resolution Audio over the HDMI connection, then I would be completely happy.

I'm sure that flash memory cards and digital downloads will replace disc media eventually (what about that 1-TB protein-encoded disc, though?), but I don't think that it's going to be TOMMORROW. I think that if Blu-ray doesn't do something stupid, like keeping prices exorbitantly high for too long, then they will quickly become mass market, and perhaps even enjoy being at the top of the pile for a while.

First of all, I have been telling anyone I meet who is interested in Blu-ray to wait until this summer if they don't plan to buy a PS3. You can't fault the guy for helping "the buyer to be-aware."

However, you do not have to be watching a movie from less than 8 feet away on a display that is larger than 50 inches wide. If you do need that in order to see the difference, then you also need something else: GLASSES. I have a 26-inch LCD here at home, and as nice as I th...

Yeah, I don't know if I would have called HD-DVD "inferior." Inferior in terms of capacity, perhaps, but HD-DVD was ahead of Blu-ray in most other ways. However, the good news is that Blu-ray can do most of the things that HD-DVD can now, so in a way it's all going to be good in the end. In other words, we shouldn't lose out, unless the major studios find BD-Java too much of a pain-in-the-butt to work with, as well as being too expensive, in which case they might skip the special fe...
