I’m confused by this statement. Whenever I play a different game and then come back to Returnal, all of my permanent unlocks are still unlocked.

Can a contributor on this site put up a report on the other article. That one is clearly meant to drive fanboyism and fuel the console war. There are actual comments in that article where people think (based on the article wording) you can’t even play other games because there is absolutely no save function in Returnal.

What are you talking about? It’s just talking about not saving on a run. It’s a roguelite so you unlock permanent upgrades, it’s just the items and weapons reset after each run. You also unlock new starting points as you progress further.
Yes Dj... filler... as in MS is now relying on a Sony game to fill the void of their own short comings.

To each their own is right. I used to get Bethesda games day 1 but the last few years my taste in games has changed and now I only get them on deep sales. I got the newest doom and newest Wolfenstein in a combo deal and I have about 3 hours in doom and 2 hours in Wolfenstein... neither clicked for me. I’m just not that into a character being a badass as a story point. My fiancée is gonna be a little annoyed though because she has around 1000 hours of PS4 Skyrim with multiple characte...

You get that people are responding to the first comment, right? The one that starts with “ this is why gamespass is so awesome”... these are responses to that comment, not the article.
It doesn’t encourage devs to put out unfinished products, but it does alter gamers mindsets.
“... but with gamespass you still get to try them out without spending money” is a mindset you should have with demos, not full releases of games when talking about buggy games.
Imagine going out to eat at a restaurant and when you get there, they tell you the meal is free. When you get served, the meat is raw, the salad is rotten, and the server spills your water on ...
