No one, not Sony, not Microsoft should be buying huge 3rd party studios like this. It only hurts everyone in the end. If the two companies had a very close working relationship for years and did this that'd be different, but this purchase was just so random.
If I had to guess, I'd say this generation is the last platform and the next one will be when Sony adds a Platform to PC like a launcher. They'll release their first party titles from there.
