I think Daft Punk was in talks with CDPR, for Cyberpunk 2077. I don't think anything is set in stone yet, but it's a possibility.
But they can't sell the same games with backwards compatibility, so it's unlikely to happen.
This may not be console, but people will continue to try making split screen available on the PC. This list is probably the most up to date.

Unless you're talking about Otherland interactive, then it's best to keep it out for now.
When you say improved game mechanics, do you mean gimmicks like a certain tablet, or something else?
Because right now, we have more problems than the already tried and true mechanics.
The Gaming industry is pretty much becoming more and more like the Movie / Music industry. Double dipping everywhere, and consumers are not taking a stance against it.
Same thing with Tomb Raider, and GTA was obviously coming to other platforms. Rockstar is smart when it comes to milking a platform first, then moving on.
EA Access sets up a even more exploiting future for gamers, if other publishers pick up on the idea as well, so it's pretty bad.
I would love a ZoE3, even pay the development if i had a endless pocket of money. It's one of the few games like that existing.
Plus, i would also love another Silent Bomber with our current development tech.
Economy may differ in countries, but from what CDPR said earlier, their budget for a massive open world RPG with their touch is quite low.
That's compared to the bloated companies, such as Ubisoft using a insane amount of people to create a game. Something's gotta happen eventually, but it'll be their own fault for ill spent money.
I'm currently playing and enjoying Divinity. Original Sin. Some other games off the top of my head are Lost Odyssey, Resonance of Fate plus more i can't remember. They're just much more enjoyable to play, because you're not forced to make a decision on a timer.
I'm glad that Torment: Tides of Numenera will be true turn based, but also saddened that Pillars of Eternity will be realtime combat.
In reality, FF7 was not a turn based game. Once the bar for the enemy completed, they would fire off an attack.
True turn based games don't have a timer for attacking.
What is PS Now, but another way of setting up consumers to give up control? It's not even true backwards compatibility, so Sony is already laughing at people.
Playing games locally will always be king, eiher way.
Sounds great if an emu is in the works, so we'll be getting access to more games.
This is in no way a form of backwards compatibility, far from it.
Haha, the Netflix of video games. This is exactly what i won't support, if that's the future of gaming.
Experience can easily help you criticise games, something that the younger generation doesn't have.
Example, Souls games (excluding Dark Souls 2) don't have an arcade feel to it, but Lords of the Fallen does. It's almost to the point of insulting the player.
As soon as i saw this game, i thought that the PS2 game was more interesting.
With the Witcher 3 having both land and sea exploration, amongst other features, i think we have a clear juggernaut already. Not to mention the RED Engine is a crown piece itself, while Frostbite isn't something to write home about.
And then there's the marketing. DA:I is pandering to minorities, being politically correct and therefore marketed as a dating simulator.
Witcher 3 may have a established character, but CDPR is showing off, and talking abou...
But this is the future, and companies will have a iron grip on your playing habits. Are you not excited?

This is a terrible idea, but people are far less resistant due to buildup from other shady schemes.
As i've said previously, i don't think people will care before something like Otherland becomes reality.
I prefer not to watch movies in 3D as well, because it just doesn't click with me.
