I know that certain games can definitely be scored a 0, but political pressure to give a higher score to games have moved the average up to 80's (for games that are considered as good).
What you consider an "average" game it could be different to what a "reviewer" considers an average game.

It seems double ironic to me that you want to bash the PS3, using a picture of Final Fantasy XIII as your avatar, you know?, since it's one of the most horrible ports of a multiplat game that's clearly superior on the PS3?. At least you could have gone with Bayonetta or something like that.

Well, being an avid golf fan, I'm pumped to see a game that could potentially require exact motions when playing... If it can help my game while at the same time enjoying/playing a video game, then it will be more than welcome at home.
I don't think the costs are higher in consoles, it really depends on several factors:
- How much time you dedicate to playing video games
- How much money you have to spend
- What types of games you like to play
- Do you care much for specs?
- How many friends have your gaming platform
- etc

I would have been more interested in seeing statistics of who gathered the most positive coverage on the different companies' products.

Only an idiot would pay $500 dollars for a gfx card when you could easily buy 8-10 console games with that same amount.
You can spin it any way you can, but PC gaming is not as cheap as you imply it to be.
Let's leave it as anybody can play their favorite platform and will incurr in its costs regardless of logic, because in the end it's still a hobby and a luxury, just that.
