Sony does this type of game well.
Don't you think there is a reason why the only thing you hear about Crytek is the graphics? The game, as far as I can tell, offers zero in the way of gameplay innovation. I agree with you - I'm not spending $1000 (literally) to play a prettier version of Unreal/FarCry/Quake.
This game look any better? It's golf! Is simulating the game of golf so hard and resource intensive?
I would like a PS3... does anyone know if games like COD3 that have been announced for both consoles will have to be downgraded for the PS3? If multi platform games have to be downgraded for the PS3, that would suck.

So...EA is licensing the Unreal Engine and interested in Crytek? Now, I'm not one to jump on the anti EA bandwagon, but what's the deal? Business plan: wait for proven software to be developed by independent, entrepreneurial companies, buy them, squish innovation, lay off redundant staff, make money. Rinse and repeat.

One thing both PS3 and 360 fans can agree on is this franchise is crap and not wanted on either console!

Kikilala: I'm sorry, let me clarify. When I wrote "superior" I wasn't refering to 360, PS3 or Wii specifications. I was referring to each console's market positioning and value proposition. The PS3 is inferior in this department as it is priced too high yet the perception is that it does not offer anything over the 360 (i.e. it is asking more for same). The wii is positioned very well (i.e. less for more). The 360 is in the middle.
We already know this. Incredible market share losses for Sony (due to an inferior product) and incredible market share gains for MS (due to a superior product). That's the way a market system works.

I'll give you the biggest reason why 360 is better, in my opinion. With FIFA '07 & the recent news that Blizzard has been talking only with MS about console development as examples, it's clear that developers are behind the 360 this generation - not Sony. Devs recognize Sony's misteps and are shifting resources to the 360 (and Wii). Even Devil May Cry is coming to the 360.
