Love what they are doing and I'm actually excited for the brand for the first time in over a decade. Amazing how getting knocked down a peg has made them very pro consumer while Sony heads the opposite direction.
I hope not, can't imagine how bad Sony would be without viable competition. They tend to get more anti consumer the bigger the lead they get, so no Xbox would be a disaster.

Games with Gold is still offering 4 games a month to PS+ 2. The quality of the releases can be debated. bit the quantity debate cannot. People overlook an important aspect of a console and that is value proposition.
Value proposition coming into this gen was through the roof for Sony. PS+ was amazing and Xbox barely launched games with gold to compete.
